motic 2, correcl operture ond shutter speed
settings will worry you no longer. The Pron'
tor-Lux shutter coupled with the built-in ex-
posure meter outomoticolly sets the correct                                         i
exposure for you. The mechonism of the ADOX
POLOmotic 2 virtuolly frees you from bother-
ing obout the best port of normol photogro-
phic technique. This little guide will tell you

 lf you see o green signol obove your bright-
line finder, set the disfonce to one of the
three oreen svmbols. There is no need to re-move jhe .o'iero from your eye, since you
will feel when the lens locks in ot one of the
three positions.                     a

Green :  good light! Set dislqnce lo symbols
Yellow :  cqulion! Check dislonce by using
           distqnce scole
Red   :  slop! Use flqsh or "8" setting for
          time exposures.

Looking through the lorge brightline finder
of the ADOX POLOmotiC 2, people ond ob-
iects will oppeor in olmost noturol sizeiust os you'see ihem with the unoided eye.-
The scene which you see cleorly, bounded by
the reflected luminous frome, will oppeor on
the film loier. The correct imoge field for
pictures ioken within the neor-disionce ronge
(between 3 to l0 ft) is indicoted by dotted
porollox morkings.           O

 As soon os the red siqnol oppeors in the fin-
 der, the prevoiling  lig-ht is ihiufficient for in-
 sfontoneous  shots.. Turn the setting ring to the
 lefi until you reoch "B". Now, thishuiter will
 remoin open for os.long os you keep the re-
 leose key depressed. Th6 "8" settinq'is coup-                                                    'o led to o leni operture of f12.8. ThJuse of
 tripod ond coble releose is essentiol here!
 (The tripod bush is on the bose of the comero).
 Don't:  outomotic,forget to loterreturnon.the setting ring to AUTOO
Whpn turning lhe setting ring still forther, thi tloshlight ronge is set outomoticolly, which

becomes de-coupled. This is ihe setting for

For f/stops for use with ADOX C 18 Colour
 Reversol Film ond ADOX NC Colour Nego-
 tive Film, follow the instructions provided by
 the floshbulb or floshgun mokers.
 f,/stop settings con olso be compuled by fhe
 following rule: f/stop :  guide number divided
 by distonce; for exomple: guide number .|00
 ond distonce l0 ft. :  ]00  : l0 :  10, which is
 to soy: f,'stop l0 or'11.
 Filters qnd bqck-lir shots
 Normol filters con be used with block-ond-
 white films. The "filter foctor" given by the
 filter mokers must be token into occount by
 chonging the film speed setting. The following

When the film comes lo qn end...
Tokinq the lost picture on the film outomoti-
collv Tocks the iopid wind lever. For conve-
niences' soke, hovb the film token out by your
deqler ond let him re-lood the comero with
o new ADOX film. However, it is'not of oll
difficult to do this yourself.
First of oll, the film must be rewound into its
cortridqe. Use the noil of vour thumb to de-
press t6e knob beside the l'e-wind crqnk ond
Lnfold the cronk.            O

Press the lockino knob in the comero bose onC
keep it depresied. Turn the rewind cronk in   .
the'directibn of the orrow. As soon os the
rototino movement becomes noticeobly
eosier,"the film hos been rewound ond yoi.l

 Push the cotch which locks the comero
 downwords ond open the bock.                                                bocko

 Pull out the rewind cronk until it stops. ond
 remove the cortridqe. The lockinq kno6 will
 iump bock when fhe ropid-wind ldver is used
 ogorn.                 @

 How to loqd your own fitms:
Open the corirero bock, pult out the rewind
 cronk,.insert the film coriridge ond push the
 cronk bock ogoin.               O(p

 Rotote the toke-up spool bv its milled disc
 until o wide slot *ith'o lus oppeors. Threod
ihe free end of the film lnto'the slot ond
ottoch one perforotion hole to the luo. Con-
tinue rotoiing toke-up spool in the direction
of the orrow until the film is tout ond its per-
forotions engog_e. the ieeth of the sprocket
roller correctly. Close the bock of the comero.


Moking your comero reody for toking pictures
Find the film speed lisure (DlN or ASAI on
rhe film pockole qnd-set this fiqure on'the
centrql knurled ring of the comerd'.
To do this, the lock on the lower side of the
shutter must be depressed. The settinq ronqe
for film speeds is' from i2-2OO ASa. th"is
permits the use of very mony types of film. @

Set the frome counter by rototing the knurled
ring. Use the smoll triongle between the figu-
res 0 ond 36 for 36-exposure films ond set
20-exposure films to 22.           @b

Flick the ropid-wind lever to the right until  rt
stops, depress releose key ond operote the
ropid-wind lever ogoin. The frome counter
will point to either 36 or 20, indicoting the
number of fromes ovoiloble for toking pho-
tos.

Besides the now.fomilior row moteriols, high-
quolity plostic moteriols such os polyomides
ond polystyrols mode by leoding monufoc-
turers hove been employed in the constructiorr
bf the ADOX POLOmotic 2. The result is o
highly shock-proof body, impervious to cor-
rosion, with geors ond moving ports which
do not require mointenonce. Like every co-
mero of fhis type, the ADOX POLOmotic 2 is
o high-precision opporotus. You ore osked,
therefore, to refroin from tompgring with fhe
mechonism! In cose of unsotisfoctory opero-
tion, the ADOX POLOmofic 2 should be re-
turned to ihe ADOX FOTOWERKE through
your own deoler.
