smoll poit of the cover-poper, but mind thot the spool does not unroll. Push the
pointed end of the covei-pbper into the wide slot of the empty toke-up spool.
Give the film-winding knob o few turns to tighten the cover-poper ond moke sure
thot the poper betwLen the two flonges winds up in o stroight woy so thot the
film is protected ogoinst light.
To close the bock of the comero toke the comero in both hqnds ond press the bock
firmly towords the comero body until the lock cotches oudibly.
When'turning the film-winding l<nob further on, in the open film countingj window ot first the usuql
pre-siqnols wr-ll oppeqr: dots,-honds or orrows. When No.'1 oppeors stop turning the knob. The film is
now reody for thb'first exposure. When turning the knob the window must be kept open by pressing
the smoll Iever obove it sidewoys.

             HOW TO TAKE PHOTOGRAPHS
                 WITH THE AGFA RECORD  III
                      The picture on poge 6 shows how the comerq should
                         be hdld when m.it in'q horizontol shots. The shutter should
                         be releosed with thiindex-finger of the right hond, which
                                    slightly glides from the indicoior ring of the ronge-finder
                           to the releose knob. When toking verticol shots the co-
                       mero should be supported with the right hond     os                      shown in the picture   ond the shutter releosed- with                            ihe thumb.             -
Durino the exposure ihe comero must be held firmly. The sfobility of the comero  is
ue.y importcrni, but with on exposure time of llzs sei. it should be possible to obtoin
pict'ures'without,f,ny  comeroshirke. But even in this cose it will be hecessory.to toke
o firm stond ond to press ihe elbows firmly ogoinst the body. The comero should never
be tilted, but kept level.
The shutter must be releosed by o squeezing oction befween the index filgqt on the
releose knob qnd the thumb on'the body of the comero ot o point diometricolly oppo-
site the releose knob.

THE PREVENTION OF DOUBLE EXPOSURE
     For the following exposure turn the film-winding knob until the next film number
     oppeors in the fiim c6unting window.
      Film tronsporf ond shutter ore ingeniously interlocked in Aqfo Record comeros to ore-

     to tronsport the film only just before the next exposuie will be mode.

  HOW TO CLOSE THE CAMERA

CARE OF CAMERA AND LENS
     Regulor core increoses the life of the comero. Protecf it ogoinst slrock ond dust by
      corrying it in our elegont ever-reody cose ond keep it out of the direct roys of the
     .sun. The lens needs speciol core, of course. Finger prints, greose spots or other mqrks
    on the highly polished surfoce of the lens should be ovoided by oll meons, becouse
     they offect definition. The lenses should be cleoned only with o very soft brush or o
     piece of cleon, well-wqshed linen or chomois, which must be entirely free of dust or
       fot. Wind the linen oround o finger-tip or toke o piece of thin, soft wood to cleon the
     ongles. Never use o shorp-cornered obiect or metol. Never unscrew the lenses.

   We supply porollel ground filters, evenly
    dyed in the moss, fo sotisfy the most

     medium yellow, yel low-green, oronge-red.

       tronsporent screw top coses.
