    DIRECTIONS FOR USING
 YOUR NEW ANSCO CAMERA
Your new Ansco carnera is easy to operate, but read the follow-
ing instructions carefully before taking your first picture. The
camera needs no adjustment for distance; it is set to take sharp,
clear pictures from a distance of 5 feet to infinity. There is a
special device built into the camera to prevent double exPosures;
after taking a picture, film must be wound before you can take
another.

    Uses size L27. Gives 12 negatives l5/e * I5A in., from
     which most photofinishers make 1y2 x 3Yz it, prints.

HOW TO LOAD CAMERA



Always load your
camera in the shade.
Unlock the camera
by sliding button on
bottom in the direc-
tioh of the arrow
and remove the back
cover. (Picture 1).

To place. the roll of film in the film carcier, marked "LOAD
HERE", fit the end of the film spool into the U-Shaped Slot
in the spiing. Then
press spring back and
fit the other end of
the spool into the
hole at the opposite
side of the cavity.

Make sure the printed side of the film's www.butkus.usbacking paper is out-
ermost as the film is
unrolled. Break the
seal and draw the
backing paper across
the wide opening. In-
sert the tongue of the
paper into the long-
er slot of the take-up
spool. Turn the
winding knob a few
turns in the direction
of the arrows to
make sure the back-
ing paper is winding
evenlv on the take-

CLOSING THE CAMERA
Place the cover over the camera bodv. Be sure the cover is well
in place and lock the camera by sliding the button in the di-
rection of the arrow. (Picture 4).

WINDING THE FILM
  Wind the film until the number 1 appears in the ted
  window on the back. You are now ready to take your
   first picture. (Picture ) ).



  SETTING THE FILM
  INDICATOR
   Anscochrome: Set the knob on the front of the c mera at
             for average scenes. In bright sunlight at the beach,
-'COLOR"for brilliant snow scenes, or other conditions where the light
    is uerl intense, set the knob at "B&\7".
    All-N7eather: Set the knob at "B&\7". If light is poor (such as
   hazy day) set the knob at "COLOR". Neaer set the knob be-
   tween "COLOR" and "B&N7".

 UNLOAD CAMERA IN SHADE
   After the last (12th) picture has been taken, wind the film
   until the backing paper has disappeared from view in the.red
   window. Unlock camera. Press back the holding spring, grasp
   the film in the center to prevent unwinding and remove the
   roll of film. Seal with the gummed band wrapped around the
    film. Transfer empty spool to the take-up position, to be ready
   for your next roll.

THE FLASH UNIT
 If you didn't get a flash unit with your c^mera, be sure to buy
one-soon. You'll have lots of fun taking flash pictures. Flash
units are available through your local dealer-ask ior the Ansco-
flash Type VII.

INSERTING THE
BATTERIES
Usin! a coin, loosen the screw on
the back of the unit. Remove the
back cover. Insert two fresb size
AA penlight batteries-one tip up,
one tip down, as indicated. (Pic-
ture 6) Replace the cover.

INSERTING THE LAMP
                                          '$ZithAttach the flash unit to the camera.     a firm hold on the
 catrtera and flash unit, push the flash bulb into the socket.
I,Jote: Never insert the flash bulb before attaching the flash unit
to the c ry,;,era.

TAKING FLASH PICTURES
The table on the back of the flash unit gives the proper set-
tings and camera-to-subject distances with All-\Teather and Ans-
cochrome Films. Always use AG-1 bulbs with black-and-white
or negative color films; use AG-IB bulbs with Anscochrome
or other color slide films.
After exposure, eject the bulb by pressing the red button on
the back of the flash unit. \When not using the unit over a.._
 period of time, remove the batteries to prevent corrosion.

CAMERA CARE
 Keep your camera clean and free of dust. Don't leave it in the
 glove compartment or on the rear window deck of your car.

 Ansco is so sure that this camera will give continued satisfact-
 ory performance that we unconditionally guarantee it. This guar-
 antee covers     camera or flash unit failure, including acci-           ^ny dental damage, which occurs during the first year of owner-
 ship, if the enclosed registration card is mailed within ten days

of purchase. Vhile your dealer is not authorizedwww.butkus.usto replace the
camera (in case of trouble), *.  suggest you have him check to
see if  it is defective. If so, pack it carefully and return it to
the Ansco office to which your registry card has been mailed.
Include tof  to cover postage and handling, and a replacement
will be sent to you by return mail.

*If manafacturing defect appears in first 90 days after purchase,
the 5o( may be omitted.
