MAKE PICTURETAKING EASY


        UNIVERSALSETTINGS
       Shutter speed 100 and aperttrre
              f :8 are marked in red. When
       thesemarkings are used, Argus
      FA is correctly set for all aver'
       age outdoor pictures in sun-
          light, using an average speed
        film  like Kodak  Plus X  or
      Ansco Supreme.




        FOCUS THE CAMERA
       Argus FA has a simple zone-
        focusing arrangement requir-
          irg a minimum  of adjustmenc.
       Three lens positions are Pro-
       vided:
        With   lens  compl ercly  rcle'
       scoped, Argus FA  is compacc,
        easy-to-carty.
I       Pictures cannot be taken with        lens in this position. A quarter
         [urn, and lens mount  xuto-
        matically adjusts to normal  picture-taking   position  for pictures
         rc  feer and beyond.
       Another turn, and lens is adjusted for close'upsac 6 to E  feet.
       Be sure index arrow is opposicedesiredposition.

           WINDING THE FILM
              Afcer each piicure  is taken, make  ic

                arely so the camera wifi  be ready for
               the nexc  piccure. Hold, down   film
              cacch,  and   turn   winding   knob
                 slighcly.  Release  frlm   carch  and
             concinue Eo wind  as  far  as knob
                  wifl  Eurn wichouc  forcing.

            UNLOADING
           When  all pictures have been Gaken,
              rewind  che film  (using knob marked
               "rewind")   back  inco  the  filrn  car-
                cridge. Open  back  of camera as in
               loading, and remove  film  carcridge.
            To  use a cripod  with  Argus  FA,
             accach ic to che chreaded bushing on
               the base of che camera.

TAKINffi FLASHPICTURES
Taking flash piccureswich Argus FA is as simple as taking outdoor
picrures.The decachableflash unic plugs into the side of the camera.
No flash adjustment is necessary.
Caution: Do  nor place flash bulb  in flash unic until the latter  is
accachedto the camera.
                              o

                                Best resuls  will  be obtained
                                                              if General Elecuic "SM"   or
                                 Sylvania (Wabash) "SF"  flash
                                  bulbs  are used. Atty  shutcer
                               speed rrray be used with  eicher
                                              c,f these flash bulbs. When
                             more lighc is necessary,midgec
                              basewire-filled flash bulbs may
                               be used with che shutter at 25
                                     (L/ZS) only. As a reminder, the
                                      fr,gure25 is colored green.

INDOORFLASHEXPOSURETABLES
      The tables below have proved sadsfactory  for average subjects in
      average roorns.  .  . medium  light colored walls. With  light-colored
       subjects, set the lens at the next smaller opening; with  dark-colored
       subjects, set the lens at the next larger opening. For example:  If
       average seming is  f :8, use f :11 for light-colored subject, f :5.6 for II      dark-colored subject. A  portrait  lens is necessaryfor close-ups (see

    shipped from  our  facrory, and when  pur-
    chased frorn as Authorized Argus  Dealer,
         it  is fully guaranteed for 90 days from  the
     date of purchaseagainst defeccsin workman-
     ship or material.
        If  chis camera develops defecs  in material
     or workmanship during this period,  it  will
    be repaired or replaced (our opcion) withouc
     charge.
     This  guarantee is  void  in  the event  the
