INDOORS or OUT DAY or NIGHT. What yo take flash pi see, you get when you jures with your Beacon ce your camera carries ts own light, there is nothing to think about except to aim and shoot. Naturally, there are a few rules to follow. If you want the best results, you will find the center pages of show you how to get tt including color film w your camera, can be used with flash. Any of the recommended flashbulbs will give you plenty of light for pictures at distances of 5 to 15 feet. However, some black and white films are “faster” than others and you can, therefore, shoot with them at greater tances. Color film is not so fast, ® and shooting distance has to be limited. It is very important that the batteries used in your flash camera be strong and fresh. Replace F them when they reach their expi- FRESH ration date, though they have pARESH., not been used much, rather than ANY FILM taking the chance of missed pictures, wasted bulbs and spoiled film. It is also important to use the right lamp. Your Beacon camera is made to work best with any one of three medium speed lamps. For portability, convenience, and low cost, the General Electric No. 5 Lamp with an adapter is excellent for all black and white snap shooting. It can be used for color too. How- THE RIGHT LAMP ever, since color film requires more light, it is suggested that the G-E No. 11 Lamp be used for most color shots, or the G-E No, 22 for the greatest possible amount of light when the shooting distance sh c a little bit. For example, in taking a Christmas picture you might want to back up and get in as much of the tree and of the room, as possible. The use of the No. 22 is suggested for this purpose. Other General Electric Lamps designed for other types of cameras, will not work in your Beacon. So be sure to buy only Class M (Medium Speed) lamps such as, the G-E 5, 11 and 22, FLASH GETS the PICTURE www.orphancameras.comView original page 3
