Setting the Exposure Counter ond  Film lndicotor
    Before toking picture with o newfy looded film, you will hove to wind the  first
po rt of the film by moking two preporotory shots os follows ' Turn the Lever Winder
(l ) o s fo r o s  it g o e s ond press the Shutter Releos eButton (5).
   Repeot this operotion. Then, on  the moking the third full stroke of the Lever
Wi nd e r, t h e E xp o su reCounter (15) indicotes No.   I  ond you o re reody to  shoot
the first picture.
   While moking these two  preporoto ry  shots,
o s c e rt oin if   t h e Re wi nding Knob (10) rototes in
the counter direction indicoted by the or row on
t he R ewin d in gK n o b .  If the RewindingKnob (10)
does not  rotote,  it meons thot the film wos rrot                                                                                                      ft
looded correctfy. So lood  it ogoin. Before toking
pictures/rotote the Rewinding Knob  (l 0)  slightly
in the direction of o rrow so os to bring o strech
on the film.

      The Exposure Counter  ( I 5)  indicotes No.   I  when
        the third frome of  picture is wound. One frome of
        picture is wound by one  full stroke of  the Lever
       Winder  (l ). In this time, the motion of  first 20o
          is free from the  setting ond  the  rest you must
                           o       wind up obout   I 80   to the  f ull stop. The shutter
          is set outomoticolly ot eoch winding. After winding
        the  tever which outomoticolly cocks the  shutter,It        Indicotor Stud for  Shutter Setting (16) will be  in
       prominent view. When the shutter  is releosed, this

stud will return to  its normol position. Therefore, oll preporotion for toking pictures
  ore deviced on the comero except for the selection of the shutter setting ond lens
  opening which ore depending on your decision.
    Now  your shoofing ! Gently press the Shutter Releose Button (6) with forefinger
  when focusing ond compositionore completed. Do  not  ierk while morking on ex-
  posure. After one exposure hos been mode, turn the Lever Winder  (l) os for os  it
  goes ond stops. The lever will return to  originol position when you  releose it.   lf
  the lever does not return, it meons thot your film tronsport is imperfect.

  Focusing

     Focusing is obtoined by  helicoid motion using Focusing Lever Q3l.  Combined
  View ond Coupled Ronge-finder(8) gives both composition ond focusing ot the some
  time through o window.
      Correct focus is secured when the double imoge in the center diomond of  the
  view finder coincides exoctly. (See illustrotion on next poge.)
     The focusing distonce between comero ond the subiect moy be found out by
  reoding the  figure on  the  Distonce Scole (1 I ) when the coincidence occurred.

   Relotion between Aperture  or  lens Opening ond "Depth-of-Field"
      Broodly speeking, the "depth-of-field" is influenced by   (l )  the distonce of  the
  picture-subiectfrom the lenses ond  l2l  the operture or  lens opening. For foirly
  distont obiect, the "depth-of-field" it g"n"rolly odequote but when focusing ot very
  close distonce, ihere is surprisinglylittle "depth-of-field" ond the photogropher must
  be very corefull obout focusing his moin subiect correctly.
     The operture or lens opening is onother fqctor which determine the omount of
  "depth-of-field" ovoiloble. Smoll operture (high number)gives greoter "depth-of-field"
  whereos o  lorger operture (low number) will  result in decreosing this zone  of
  shope ness.

U N L O A D I N G   T H E  F I T T I

                        When your Exposur e C o u n t e r  ( 1 5 )   i n d i c o t e s t h o t
                          you hove mode 36 exposures (or 20 os the cose moy
                               be),  it  is time to unlood the  fi lm.
                              Since the exposed film hos been wound on  the
                                fixed spool  in  the comero,   it  will  be  necessory to
                            rewind it bock to  the spool of  the  film mogozine or
                            co ssette.
                                This is performed by  t h e  f o l l o w i n g p r o c e d u r e :
                                                                           l .  F i l l i p u p   t h e b o r d e r o f C r o n k H o n d l e ( 9 ) o n   t h e
                              rewinding knob ond  t h e C r o n k H o n d l e ( 9 ) w i l l b e
                                spring releosed to winding position.
                                  2.  Turn the Cronk Hondle (9) clockwise ofter pressing
                                  the  Film Rewinding Button l20l on  the bottom of
                                 the comero.
                                  3. When the exposed film hos been completely rewound

   mogozrne,
   The Film Rewinding Button (20) on the bottom of the comero will  return to  its
originol position by winding the Lever Winder  (l)  ofter looding new film.

   The Coool-MXV Shutter is incorporotedon the "BEAUTYCANTER-35F 1.9"

   Chonge of synchronizotioncon be done by Adiusting
Lever l2ll  os follows '
 l . W h e n  t h e A d iu st ingLever  l2ll  is set ot  X, the s y n -
    chronizotion is such thot the shutter is fully open ot
    the time of flosh. ln this cose it  is fully synclrronized
    with on electronic flosh of  oll shutter speeds.

                          The Selftimer (18) moy be used only, in cose of  the
                           Adiusting Lever  l2ll  is set ot X.

    When intentionoldouble exposure is desired for  porticulor reoson, do os
  follows,
     Turn the LeverWinder (l)  like usuol winding ofter pressingthe FilmRewinding
  Button(20). This button will return to  its originol position by setting the shutter.
  The shutteris now reody to operote despite the foct thot the film hos not been

3    odvonced. You con now moke double exposure iust by pressing the shutter releose
      button.
*     Note:  Since the ExposureCounter (15) hos odvonced one index in spite of the
               foct thot there hos been no octuol movementof the film, it will be necessory
                to remember thot you hove one more exposure thon thot indicoted by the
            exposure counter.

                 G E N E R A T I N F O R i l I A T I O N
        A modern comero is o precision instrumenimonufocturedto exocting dimensions.
          It should therefore be hondled with greot core.
            l.  Don't touch the lens with fingers. Keep the lens olwoys cleon. When   it gothers
          dust, wipe ond cleon  it corefully with soft brush or cotton cloth.
       2. Do not forget to reploce the cop when the comero is not in use.
       3. When odvoncing the film, lever winder should be turned os for os  it goes.
       4. When your film hos come to the end, the lever winder no longer operotes or
          stops holfwoy or  so.  In this cose push the  filrn rewinding button ond  let the

       lever winder turn very  slightly, ond then the lever  will  return to  the originol
       position.
   5. Do not lood or unlood the film under direct sunlight.
   6. Do not leove the film looded in the comero for o long while ofter  it hos been
      completely exposed. Develop  it within o week.
