Pull out the rewind knob os fo r os it will
go, then ploce the cossette in lhe em pfy
spool chom ber. lf you now releose the re-
wind knob, ii will return io its orig inol
position.The slot should engoge lhe cross-
bor in the film spool.
When inserting fhe film, ovoid direct sun-
light. lf there is no other shode ovoiloble,
turn your bock to fhe sun.

Bend the frimmed end of the film offer the fourfh hole of the perforotions ond drow it out of ihe cosseffe for enough for it to reoch the foke up spool. Wind the toke up spool until fhe slot mqrked with o white line beccimbsvisible. Now slide the bent piece of film into the slof, press fhe releose knob down qs':for os possible,ond operote the ropid wind lever until fhe sprocket teeth engoge in lhe perforolions of fhe film. ln eoch cose you should first operoie the
shutter releose knob. Adjust ihe counter by
meons of the toothed wheel underneqth the
ropid wind lever so thol the figure 36 on lhe
counter is of the red dot on lhe comero
top. (When using o 20 exposure film, loke
figrre 20.) Now your "EXPLORER" is reody
for the first shot. The film counler counls
every olher picfure bqckwords from 36 to 0
ond indicoteseoch time the number of ex-
posuresstill ovoiloble.

Affer the lost picture on lhe film - indicoted on the film counter by fhe figure 0 - is exposed,
you con rewind fhe film. For this purpose slide the locking knob in the direction of the qrrow
to R. Now turn fhe rewind knob, without roising it, in the direciion of the orrow unfil the
film is com pletely wou nd bock

The depfh-of-field comprises lhe zone which is shorply defined by lhe lens, from the foreground
to the bockground. This oreo or depth vories occording to the operture chosen. Thof is lo
soy, o lorge operture (f/2.8) gives less depth-of-field, ond o smoll operture (f/16) gives c
greoter depth-of-field. The depth-of-field for every operture selling con eosily be reod off the
obliquely posilioned depih-of-field ring of the "EXPLORER". This repeots on the leff ond on
the right of fhe block diomond lhe ronge of lens opertures.

Now everything you shoot from o minimum dislonce of 10 ft. will be shorp fo infinity.
