Proteetive Lid for Pa,nehromatic Fihns
The sensitiveness of panchrom-
atic films is so.great that the in-
trusion of light for hours or days
through the red film window
makes the film hazy. Therefore
the camera is equipped with a w
device to cover the film window. rlr
This cover keep shut all the time alt (,and open merely in order to con-
trol the numbers while moving
the film by pushing uprvard the
small button 39. Picture 3
Two-Size Equiprnent
The "Bonafix" is equippeci to take two different sizes of
pictures. If using 2r/+ X \r/En' only the lower film window
32 must be considered.
If 2rl+ X 2r/E" ls used, the picture mask 87 put in place
before inserting the film. The anguiar ends on the narrow
side of the adapter are pushed between camera body and
film guide roller.
If operating with size 2r/E X 2r/s" uS€, the upper film
window 31.
With size 2rlE X 2rl+" you need not worry about upright
or square. Besides, the focal lenght of L0,b cm reproduces
phrticularly well the size 21/a X 2ria" whictr is of great ad-
vantage for the ensuing colour photography.

Opening of Ca,mera
After pressing button 24 t}:re base board 28 will fly open.
Pull down the base-board 28 until both struts catctr audibly,
or else the base-board will not be
fast and the lens is not in the cor-
rect. distance from the film. This
inay cause unsharp pictures.
: Focussing the lens:
If the stop hand 2 points to "fn-
finity" the camera is focussed for
distances beyond 50 feet. For ob-
jects of a lesser distance the adjust-
ment is effected by setting the
mount of the front:Iens on the de-
sired number of feet.
Judge or measure the distance be- ' tween the object and the camera
and make the actual number of feet
tally with the stop hand 2 on the
lens.
If the ascertained distance, for in-
stance 7 feet, is not indicated on the
mount, then set the front-lens in sugh a way that the hand
2 rests between 6 and 8 feet; or if possible, ctrange the dis-
tance of the ,object to some such distance as indicated on
the front-lens (6 resp. 8 feet).

For "8" (-: indicating time exposures). the shutter stays open as long as the release is being pressed. "B" is used for any exposures greater than those marked on the shutter. Cocking the shutter All shutters have a blocking device against double ex- posrlre; the release will work only if the shutter is codred. SettinE of Diaphra,Ern Usual diaphragm apertures 4 are f :32 - 22 - 16 - 11 -B-5,6-4,5. f : 32 is the smallest, f :4,5 the largest opening. Large opening mueh light : short exposure time - 4,5 -- 5,6 L/200 1/100 sec. -Medium opening : medium light : medium exposure time' B 11 11100 1/50 sec. - -Small opening less light longer exposure time - 16 22 32= 1/50 1/25 sec. - - -Great -openings : less depth of focus Small openings : great depth of focus Adjusting of diaphragm is effected by mbving the dia- phragm indicator 3 onto the desired diaphragm values 4. Selftimer (I)ela,yed-lction Deviee) The built-in selftimer 10 permits you to take your own portrait. without outside help, even when taking group pictures the photographer may ioin the group. Fla,sh-Synehronizing The flash syndrronizer resp. the connecting nipple 8 is on the right upper part of the shutter. In order to use it the cable of the flash device must be plugged into the con- necting nipple 8. When the shutter is released the syn- ehronized flash bulb is automatically ignited. Body-release The release of the shutter is effected by the body-release 27. Opening the base-board 28 causes the body-release 27 on the right of the camera to come out automatically. When closing the camera, the release 27 is again pulled badr automatically. Importa,nt When opening the base-board, mind, lest by inapt holding in your hands, the foreward movement of the body-release beimpeded,asthismaycausetrciub1eanddamages. Yet, should any trouble arise due to unskilful handling, close the camera gently and re-open it properly. Il-aist Level Finder Looking straight down into the upper lens one sees the image of the subject. Picture (7) shows the limits for up- right resp. square exposures by hatdred lines. For square exposllres tilt the finder 900. For the use of size 21/n by 2rl+ indres, picture (8) shows the limits within the finder. Eye-tevel find.er For sport picturts use the metal frame finder.
