The Depth-of-Field
The depfh-of-field comprises lhe zone from the foreground fo the bockground which is shorply
defined by lhe lens. This oreo or deplh vories occording to ihe operture chosen. Thot is fo
soy, o lorge operlure (f/2.9) gives less depth-of-field, ond o smoll operfure (f/16) gives o greoler
depth-of-field. The depth-of-field for every operlure setting con eosily be reod off the obliquely
posilioned depth-of-field ring of ihe "Gloriefte". This repeols on ihe leff ond on lhe right of
the block diomond lhe ronge of lens operlures.
Example.lf you hove set lhe focussing ring exoctly
ol '|'4 ft., the depth-of-field for lhe operlures lisfed

A good snopshoi requires nof only quick reocfion on the port of the photogropher, but olso
reqdiness for instonf oction in the comero. Therefore your "Glorielle" is provided with o
red-morked sysfem for setling lhe operlure, the dislonce, ond fhe exposure time. All'you
hove to do is sighf your subjecl in the viewfinder ond press down lhe releose.
For brighf sunshine, adjust the following red-morked setfings:
1. operlure 11
2. exposure time t/so
3. distonce 20 ft.
Now everything you shool from o minimum distonce of 10 ft. be shorp io infinity.
