Introdvetion
‘The Canon Speedite 188A is an automatic
lectronic, flash unit for hot-shoe attach-
‘ment on the Canon A-teres SLR cameras
‘uch a8 AE-1 PROGRAM or A-1, and New
F-1. The speedite mounts onto the ac-
‘cessory shoe of the cameras for hot-shoe
attachment.

On the A-1, AE-1 PROGRAM, and AE-1
the 188A wil set both the shutter speed
‘and aperture for the cameras set normally
for automatic exposure. For the New F-1
the 188A will set only the shutter speed or
Jens aperture as well depending on the ex-
posure made the camera is set fr. For the
AAL-1, AV-1 and AT-1, the flash will set the
shutter speed automatically while the aper
ture is set manually

When the 188A is used with the AE-1
PROGRAM, @ bitz “{§]" mark lights up io

distance. Thus you can concentrate on
‘shooting and picture composition. You
ever have to take your eye away from the
wewtinder

For the AE-1 PROGRAM 25 well as for
other A-series SLAS and the New F-1. 8
unique average light measuring system
‘ensures attaining better overall exposure
Another feature of the 18BA is that while
You are waiting for the flash to recycle, the
camera's normal automatic exposure func
tion is retained and you can shoot using ex-
isting ight. Of course, for very ow ambient
ilumination, slow shutter speed is required
‘and long exposures may be suitable only
‘when there is no motion to be stopped.
