Your COMET CAMERA is a well designed, carefully
made camera capable oI malring line pictures with
 great simplicity oI operation.
The locusing leature, no iar shutter and scientili-
cally designed meniscus lens make possible sharp

inlinlty, capable oI good enlargements up to 5 x 7
 and 8 x 10.
No lixed or universal locus camera can give sharp
pictures over such a range. OnIy locusing permits
 this.
Closeups oI obiects such as llowers, pictures, por-
traits ol heads, full length ligures and landseapes are
all within the range of the COMET. It takes pictures
indoors and outdoon in black and white or lull color.
Since the quality ol pictures taken with any catrr-
era depends on th€ proper 1rse ol the camera F a
little time spent on studying the opepation oI the

THE LIGHT
WelI exposed snapshols can be laken out ol doors
on bright sunny days or on lairly bright cloudy days.
fndoors, snapshots can be taken with the use of two
or fhree #2 phololloods in.reflectoru placed about S
leet lroin the subiect. For yery dull ouldoor pietures
or indoor pictures with less light than provided by
photolloods as listed above - time exlrosures are
needed. The COMET has two aperture speeds, I-ll
and l-16. For bright outdoor conditionr - alwrys usa
f-I6. For cloudy outdoor pictures and photollood in-
     door pictures use l-Il.
    POSITION OF LIGHTING
Pictures outdoors should always be taken with the
sun at the baclr or toward the side, nevet with the
sun in lront oI the cameta. Ifs light would enter inro
the lens and log the film. Also it would not light up
the lront side ol the obiects being photographed.
When using photollood, various effecls are possible
depending on the location ol ihe lights. eenerally,
* somewhat more light should come lrom one side than
I the other. For example: 2 photofloods ean be placed
l on one side and one on the other. For natural shadow
I elfects, at least I oI the lights should be high enough
t to shine in a downward direction on the obiect. They
should be placed within about S teet oI the subiect
and lar enough lrom the side to point in at about 4So.
Make sure no direct light shines into the lens and
that the lights are not in the way ol the picture. For
portraits, plain backgrounds are best. It is advisable
to use one oI the many texts on indoor portrait work.
The COMET, due to its locusing ranEe, will make Iine
     portraits indoors or outdoors.
