CAUTIONI IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOI' READ THE
FOLLO\UrING INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE ATTEMPTING
TO INTERCHANGE LENSES ON YOUR C.4 C}UTNE.
Your camera's rangefinder is a precision instrument. . To
remove lenses, rangefinder dial must be set at the infinity
mark ( co ).
To avoid iniury to rangefinder's inechanism, never turn the
dial .into the danger zone. It is permissible to turn the dial

The easiest method to interchange
lenses on your Argus C-4 Camera
is as follows: Hold C-4 camera
in the palm of either hand (with
front of camera facing '1ou) so
that your thumb is on top-bt C-4
rangefindet wheel. Your index
finger should be on back of cam-
era, while your other three fingers
grip base of camera. The purpose

Note: Lenses should .t*url, be removed with rangefnder
at infinity (00) position. -likw
rangefinder wheel to infinity (0O) position. The
infinity (00) position of the rangefinder wheel should
line up with the index mark of the camera.
2 Turn small wheel on bayonet arm counter-clockwise,
thereby unlocking the arm. ffiiis't
3 Push bayonet afm up to the lower right-hand corner
of the viewfinder window. It will stop at this position.
DO NOT FORCE PAST THIS POINT.

Hotd lens with depth of field scale facing you and locate red arrow
facing distance scale.
I 2 Turn rear collar of lens until infinity (00) position lines up wittr red lens u**. At infinity (N) you witl feet and hear a click that will hold

3 Holding camera as described, make sufe that the infinity (00) position of the-rangefinder wheel is aligned with index mark of camera and
firmly hold thumb on rangefinder wheel.
Take your lens and locate red dot on side of rear lens_collar-. Align
the red dot with the cameta's rangefinder index mark. Place lens on
mount, MAKING SURE THAT TEETH OF LENS COUPLING GEAR
ARE PROPERLY ENGAGING TEETH OF CAMERA'S RANGEFINDER
$flHEEL. Then gently press lens against camera.
J CAUTION; IF TEETH OF GEARS DO NOT ENGAGE, LIFT LENS
SLIGHTLY FROM CAMERA MOUNT. KEEPING TEETH OF RANGE.
FINDER $rHEEL AND COUPLING GEAR IN VIE\Ur/; then tufn fange-
finder wheel in either direction approximately one gear's tooth. As soon
as gear teeth engage gently press lens against camera.
\6 Pull down bayonet arm to bayonet arm stud, thereby securing lens ln
position. Turn small wheel on bayonet arm clockwise, locking arm ln

Supplementary lnstructions on Remounting of Cintar Lens
Your Cintar Lens does not have a visible focusing scale, therefoh
you cannot set your lens at the infiniry (m) position as described
for the Telephoto or Vide Angle lens. Before installing your
Cintar Lens you will have to refer to the rear of your lens. You
will see two white dots. One of these dots is located on a movable
ring, whereas the other dot is on a stationary ring. Your lens is
focused at the infinity (00) position when the two white dots are
lined up opposite eaih other.- If the white dots are not in line you
may turn the movable ring in either direction until they are cor-

The depth of field scale on top of your
Lithagon lenses tells you how much of your
pictuie is in sharp focus. Depth of field varies
with distances and f-settings, but this scale
always tells you what it is.

close up and this enables you to get wonderful
"candid" studies with it. And posed portraits shot with
this lens have a professional quality, whetherful,It z you take them in color .or black and white.
wild lile: You can get wonderful bird and animal shots
with your telephoto lens. Its high magnifying power
lets you stand at a safe distance and still shoot for deqail.
groups: Your wide angle lens gets everybody in
the picture even if you're shooting a large group
of people or- even if you'te shooting in a small
room. You don't have to crowd people together,
either!
inleriors: Interior shots with your wide angle lens
will show much more of the interior. The
Lithagon wide angle lens takes in'an 87Vo greater
picture area. You will be able to take good
pictures even in confined areas whete trees,
buildings or obstacles of some other sort interfere.
