The Delta Flash Attachment is a perfect match for the Delta Stereo Camera.
It is not an accessoryin the usual sense, but an actual part oJ the camera which can
be attached or detached in a jiffy. Thorough research and expert engineering have
produced exclusiaeJeatures which put the Delta Flash Attachment in a class by
itself, far ahead of the so-called "accessory" flash attachments. It is far more
efficient, more dependable, and much easier to operate.
The Delta Flash Attachment mounts sol'i.dlyto the camera with a single thumb-
screw which fits into the tripod socket. The electrical connections and flash synchro-
nization arebuilt-in. There are no wires or cords to tangle, snag, come loose, or fall
in front of the lenses. The flash bulb is automatically fired bv the shutter .elease
button as the picture is snapped.
The light control shield has a delicate blue tint, scientifically measured to produce
the exact quality of light necessary for taking brilliant, true-to-life color pictures.
The inner surface is molded in a circular pattern which distributes the light more
anenly over the entire picture area. In addition, this sturdy light control shield
serves as a built-in safety shield to give full protection in case a flash bulb should
shatter in the reflector as it is fired.
Ordinary flash reflectors tend to spread the light. This wastes a great deal of the
light on areas which will not appear in the picture. The Delta reflector is expertly
designed to concentratea maximum amount of the light directly upon the picture
www.orphancameras.comView original page 23Page 24 · Read text
This does not mean that subjects beyondthe good lighting zone cannot be photo-
graphed. It means only that the background colors will photograph darker than
normal. In many pictures, this gives a very pleasing effect. However, subjects in
front of the near point should ahtays be auoid.edbecause the color rvill have a faded
and washed-out appearance.
At first, you will probably want to measure the distance between camera and
subject. However, with a little practice, you will soon be able to judge the distance
accurately enough without having to measure. You will find that the size of the
image in the viewfinder serves as a good indicator of distance.
In all types of indoor color photography, the eyes have a tendency to look
unnatural. This can be overcome by having the room well lighted. Turn on rvall
lights, ceiling lights, etc. The more the better. Then ask your subjects to look
directlv into the camera.
TAI(ING THE FLASH PIGTURE
For top quality flash pictures, carefully follow these simple directions.
o Make sure that fresh flash bulb has been inserted.
o Set lefthand lens dial at SHADE.
