DEVELOPING
EASTMAN
T\EE"FII-M.
ORTHOCN ROTVIRTIC, NON.HALATION.
When manipulating Eastman N. C. Film bear the follorving
facts in mind:
fst N. C. Films being coated on the back with gelatine,
neither side must come in contact with anything while drying. Note
special directions for drying.
2nd. As N. C. Films are very rapid and are orthochromatlc
theyshould be handled carefully in the dark-roomwith safe rubylight,
or developed in either the Kodak Film Tank or Kodak Developing
Machine to avoid fogging.
l'or No. 1 and No. 2 Brownie F'ilm we would advise the use of
the Bnowwrn Dnvnroprxc Box or BnowNrr Frr,rrr Terr.
3rd. N. C. Film will not cun and the glycerine bath is, there
fore, entirely unnecessary.
4tb. N. C. Films must be 6xed in anAcid lixing Bath, or else
immersed in an alum bath after fixing.
PR"EPARI.S{G FOR DEVELOPMENT.
For best results rve urge the use of the Kodak Filrn Tank, the Brormie
Filrn Tank, or the Brorvnie DeveJoping Box, calling particular attention'
however, to the fact thit the Acid Fixing Bath must be used or filrns
must be soaked in alum bath for fully five minutes and dried as per directions
herein. Those w4ro preder the dark-room method o{ developntcnt should, horv-
ever, procoed as follorvs:
We recommend the development of cartridge fil.ms in the strip' The
operator can readily handle a 12-exposure strip (as described in Section I.)
up to and including the 3rl x 4f size. In the larger slzes those desiring tri
f,llow tlre strip method of-developnrent should use the 6 exposure cartridges
if-they,f,nd the longer oner cann,,i be conveniently handled,
If the operatoi-prefers to cut up the cartridge fihn before dcvelopment, he
shoulcl carefully follow the directious given in Section fI.

the high lights wiil begin to darhon, and you will readily be
able to distinguish the unexposed scctions betweetr the nega-
tives. Cornplete deyelopment in the strip, giving sufncieDt
lergttr of development to bring out what detail you emr in the thinnest negatiyes.
There is no harm in haYing your negatiyes of differerlt density-this can be set right in
tho Drinting. The difference in the density does [ot affect the difference in contra,st.
