Practically any desired screen picture size may be obtained by the use of a lens of the proper focal length. Select the correct lens for your use from the chart on the following page. For best projection resulLs, the screened picture should be neither too small nor too large to be seen comfortably. The 16mm 2-inch lens and the Bmm l-inch lens have been found to give the most useful picture size under normal projecting conditions. Lenses of shorter and longer focus (see pages 4 and 5) are offered for use when the throw is too short or too Iong for the standard lens. With your Filmo 16mm sound or silent projector: we recommend the use of the B&H Field Flattener. Designed for use with the 2-inch F 1.6 Excessalite and the 2-inch F I.6 Incre-Lite lenses, it improves the definition and sharpness of the entire filnr frame area. When readying your projection equipment for a showing, place the screen so that the edge of the picture is just above the eye level of the audience, giving an unobstructed view to those seated in the rear. Place the projector on a stand or table of such height that the projeclion lens is well above the heads of the audience, so that the ordinary move- menls of seated persons will not bring their heads irrto the projector light bearn. A B&H projector stand is recommended for this purpose. Before every show, clean the projection lens, using the B&H lens cleaning kit. Clean Filmocoted lenses, which are identified by the designation "ELC" following the focal length and iris rnarkings and by the bluish appearance of the elements, with Opti- kleen lens cleaning fr.ujd. only. Any other lens cleaning preparation may damage the lens surfaces. Opti- kleen fluid may also be used on uncoated lenses. Return l,he lens to posilion, avoiding fingerprints, and focus for projection.View original page 4

As'loss of light increases with distance, the projector, whenever possible, should be placed close enough to the screen so that the picture projected through the l6mm 2- or 2ll-inch or the Bmm l-inch lens will till the screen. If the distance between projector and screen cannot be so regulated, select the 16mm 3-,3ft- or 4-inch lens, or Bmm lll-inch lens, which will cover the screen area properly. In cases where maximum illumination is desired and the throw is long, the B&H Incre-Lite l6mm 3-inch F 2, 3rl-inch F 2.3, or 4-inch F 2.5 lens should be used, preferably on a Filmo projector having a 1000- or 1200-watt lamp. These lenses, with their large front elements, pass more light.View original page 6
