Description:
The FLDGRET lVo is o twin-lens reffex comero for twelve 6Y-6 cm exposureson
120 films or for thirty-six24Y.36 mm exposureson 35-mm cine film.
The focusing is effected by o simultoneous movement of the two objectives (mounted
on o common ponel) by meons of the focusing lever within o ronge of obout 1100.
The viewing lens is o f g.O, F:80 mm three-gloss coqted onostigmot; hnce its defi'
nition is ro-ther low, os o result of which the focusing is more occurote, A full-screen
mognifier which con be tilted over the ground-gloss screen focilitotes focusing' On
the-ground-gloss screen on upright, non-reversed, bright ond qhorp. imoge is seen.
It is-possibl6 olso to toki: snopshots from the e-ye-level, providing thot the viewfinder
hos been odjusted to on open frome finder. This proves to be very odvontogeous,
porticulorly when tcking quick, sports shots.
The toking lens is o four-gloss BELAR cooted onostigmot, f 3.5, F:80 mm, with o
focusing ronge from infinity up to 3 ft.
The comero is equipped with o five-lominoe centrol-type shutter fitted with synchro'
nizotion for vorious' kinds of floshlight ond with deloyed oction. lt is usuolly o
PRONTOR SVS-type sh,utter. The meihonisms octuotinq the cocking of the shutter,
the setting of tl.re exposure time ond thot of the diophrogm, ore. mounted on the
shutter; tEe releose iever ond the th,reod-nipple for the wire releose ore locoted
on the comero body, these mechonisms being blocked by the rewind mechonism,
thus preventing repeot"d .*posures from being mode on the some frome' In speciol
        (e. g. w6en moking trick shots), two or more exposures con be effected directly
 "orlr'on the shutter.

con be removed in doylight.
Also when using o 35-mm cine filrn both the rewind knob ond the releose lever ore

The releose lever is locoted ot the right hond side of the viewing lens so thot it con
be octuoted by meons of the right hond thumb. This is very convenient since it
enobles the ccmero to be held firmly with both honds while exposing.Simultone-
ously, the focusing lever con be octuoted with the forefinger of the left hond.
The forefinger of the right hond con be used for cocking the shutter, Thus oll the
operotions preceding the exposure con be effected very eosily ond quickly without
crossingthe honds.
The depth of the focus icole is engroved on the focusing lever.
After tilting the cover lid of the viewfinder folding hood, the remoining three lids
qre set outomoticolly into working position; on closing the viewfinder foldinE hood
it is sufficientonly to press down the cover lid, os o result of which the folding hood
is closed outomoticolly.
With the lotest model of the FLEXARETlVo the rewind knob hos been designed to
registerthe kind ond sensitivenessof the film used, The design of this device elimi- 'hqsnotes the possibilityof ony hondling ofter the film been looded ond the comero
closed, thus ensuring thot the figures shown by the indicotorsore correct.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE.
1. SensitiveMoteriol:
Stondord1.20(6\9 cm) roll film should be used on which twelve 6X6 cm expo-
sures con be mode.
lf it is required to work with 35-mm perforoted cine film, use stondord pocking-mmin
mogozinescontoining up to 1.6 m (i. e. 63 in.), ond moke thirty-six24 \ 36
exposures.
It is possible, however, to use olso other types of mogozineswith cine film, e. g,
mogozineswithout o spool (e. g, AGFA-KARAT-FiIm)for twelve 24)(36 mm expo-
sures. lt is obvious thot in oll coses vqrious types of sensitive moteriol, block-ond-
white or colour, con be employed.
2. Opening the Comero:
At the left hond side of the cqmero there is o milled knob (see Fig. l-1) which con
be unscrewed by rototing it to the left. lt con then be presseddown, os o result
of which the bock of the comero is opened.
3. Preporing the Comero for Looding the Film:
o ) 6 X 9 c m
Inside th,e comero there is on empty spool (see Fig. lll-3) which should be locoted
in- tf9 upper spool chomber (see Fig. lV-4). lf this is not the cose, the inserting
of this empty spool is effected in the following woy:

                                 6

Pull out the rewind knob (see Fig. ll-2) in the direction of its oxis ond turn ir
slightly to the left (i. e, onti-clockwisedirection). The knob remoins in the with-
drown position.Insert the empty spool into the upper spool chomber so thot the
longitudinolslot ot one side of the spool foces the rewind knob. Then slightly
press the spool with the left hond thumb in the direction of the spool crxii so
thot.the.firm spool pivot (see Fig. lV-6) snops into the circulor operringon the
left hond side of the spool,
While holding the left hond side of the spool with the left hond thumb, turn the
rewind knob by meons of your right hond first to the left, until the knob snops in,
whereupon,by turning the knob to the right, the key of the tronsporting pivot
snops into the longitudinolslot in the right hond spool side. Thus the spool is
inserted correctly into the upper spool chomber" This con be checked by turning-
the rewind knob, The spool must rotote sinrultoneouslywith the rototing knob.
The rewind knob con be turned only to the right (i. e. in clockwisedirection),
providing thot the spool hos been inserted correctly.

b) 35-mm Cine-film:
Set up the smoll extension pivot (see Fig. V-8i',upon the firm spool pivot (see
Fig. V-6) in the upper spool chomber, inserting the spring-fooded inner port of
the smoll extension pivot into the opening in the firm pivot.
Next set up the lorge extensionpivot (see Fig. Vl-9) upon the tronsporting pivot
of the rewind knob so thqt the key of the tronsportingpivot (see Fig. Vl-7) snops
into the groove (see fig, Vl-l0) of the lorge extensionpivot.

lf it is desired to lood the film on o spool only, insert the spool between the two
    extensionpivots in the following woy:
Toke the side of the spool with the left hond occordingto Fig. Vll-11 ,ond put the
opening on its other end upon the lorge extensionpivot (see Fig. Vll-9) so thot
the tronsporting insert of the spool snops into the spoce between the projecting
pins of the pivot, pressingthe spool simultoneouslyin the direction of its oxis
towords the rewind knob so thot it con olso be put upon the smoll extension pivot.
Supposingit is desired to work with o mogozine, the insertingof the mogozine
with the spool must be corried out simultoneouslywith the lJoding of thl film

Bgfore looding the film first moke certoin whether the ouxiliory counter'(see Fig.
fx-l6) indicotes the correct position. The window of this counter must show zero.
Should it not do so, the milled knob (see Fig, lX-l7) must be rototed in the clockwise
direction until the zero oppeors in the window.

Exomple:
The focusing lever is set with its reference mork opposite the number "3" on the
metric distonce scole (see Fig. XIX-29). Supposingthe objective is stopped down to

mork. They ore distoncesobout 2.5 m ond 3.8 m. lf the lens is stopped down to "16",
the distoncesreod off will be opproximotely2,1 m ond 5.5 m.
In cose it is desired to determine the depth of focus more occurotely, the enclosed
"Depth of Focus Toble" con be used which hos been computed for o moximum
