         ADJUSTABLE ROLL FILM
       DEVELOPING TANK
                 MODEL 2
FR chemisfs and engineers, after several years of intense
research and experimentation, during which time many
model tanks havi been made and tested under all dark
room conditions-have produced a plasfic roll film tank
that can be unconditionally guaranteed against shock or
     damage of any nature.
been This is because the FR "Special"'amazingModel 2 has molded with a new plastic of resiliency-a plastic
       thaf resists every photographic chemical.
I A good tank is fhe first requisite in the developmeni of roll t'Special" film-. In selecting ihe FR you have chosen the
rl finesf lank monei can buy. Load i+ in the dark-but after
that all operations can be carried out in broad dayligh+.
READ +h; directions on the following pages carefully
il BEFORE YOU START. lf you follow them faithfully you
can achieve success, even if i+ is your firsl advenlure in fhe

TO LOAD REEL: Cup film by pressing both edges with fingers and
thumb o{ right hand and attach securely by pressing hook through
end of film by using thumb of lefi hand. Now place reel on table
and while cupping film, revolve reel in a counter clockwise direction
(when knurled top of spiral assembly is toward you) thus drawing
the film into the grooves of ihe reel. Put spiral reel assembly in
tank, place cover on tank making certain it is engaged all around;
then lock by turning in clockwise direction as far as possible. This
enfire procedure should be practiced in daylight until thoroughly
{amiliar with tank.

ALTERNATE LOADING METHOD: The reel may also be loeded by
feeding the film into the grooves from the outside opening, handling
film by the edges with thumb and fingers of the right hand until
entire film has been talen up by the parallel spiral grooves of the
reel. This method is not recommended as it is not possible to obtain
consistent resuhs. Humid weofher, various iypes of emulsion and
various fleribilities of the film male this method erratic and should
not be used unless it is required that two rolls of film be loaded into
ihe tank at the same fime; the first roll being loaded from lhe inside
of the reel and the second by the alternate method. USE PRACTICE
FILM UNTIL PROFICIENT BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO LOAD THE
ACTUAL PHOTOGRAPHIC FILM IN THE DARK.
