www.butkus.us .HINTS FOR BETTER PICTURES d-. Alwoys keep the comero lens cleon ond cleon it only with o lens cloth. Never use ordinory fobrics, os they moy scrotch lhe lens. Do not ottempt pictures closer thon 3,5 feet, os they will not be shorply focussed, unless portroit ottochmenls ore used. For speeds of longer thon l/25 resp. l/30 sec. olwoys use o lripod or o firm bose. The comero hos o socket for o tripod-bush. Under normol light conditions, 1:11 ond l/50 resp. l/60 sec. ore the most suitoble comero sellings. Use l/.l25 sec' for obiects moving ropidly, l/200 resp. l/250 sec. for very ropid movemenls, such os in sports, etc. whereby o,lorger operture of r:4 or l:2,g will noturolly be needed. On dull doys open the operture lo I :8 or 1 :5,6. On very bright doys with sunshine on woter or snow, close the operlure lo f :22. The exposure meters which con be obtoined ot your deolers ore o good help. It is odvisoble to use o photo electric exposure meter, if you oltoch porticulor importonce lo occurote lighting or when you ore required to work under difficult lighr or room condiiions.View original page 20
