Take-up       forward until a click is heard and it will not

           4. ReleaseREvTND CRANK HANDLE by press-
              ing forward and lifting. Then press down
           and rotate in opposite direction of arrow
   ndle       on camera to open the three spool clantps

          down Rewind Crank, snapping handle into
Spool           its socket. Drop film cartridge into chanrber.

            sure to engage one perforation with tab at
            lower end of sptool.Turn spool by its ser-

            camera.

   Make sure perforations along edges of  film engage teeth
    at top and b<ltt<lm<lf Film Advance Sprocket. Close canrera
   back. rnaking sure it  is securely latched.

   Af ter the shutter has triFrpsd'i',pull the Shutter ReleaseLever
   conrpletelyto the right ("Position 3"); allow lever to return

  2. \7hen using No. ,,9,2r,   or M-j flashlamps(clear or blue),
    set the syNcHRo LEVERat "M"  for  all shutter speeds.Vhen
    using AG-1, M-2, M-25 (clear or blue), SM or SF flashlamps,
    set the syNcHRo LEVERat "X"  and use a shutter speed of
     l/60  or slower. Vhen  using Electronic Flash, see "Electronic
    Flash" below.

 3. Set the shutter at the speed needed to stop action, generally
    L/6O or l/125  sec. To set the shutter speed quickly, turn the
   Exposure Setting Ring, while holding the Exposure Com-
    bination Selecto;, until  the desired shutter spegd number is
    opposite the white triangle on the lens barrel.
 4. Use the chart on Page 27, or consult film or flashlamp manu_
    facturer's instructions to determine proper "Guide Number,'
     for the film  in the camera and the shutter speed being used.
    Rotate the Spectramatic Color Band by its metal tab until the
   curDE No. porNTEn is opposite this number on the curDE No.
   scALE. (In the case of intermediate Guide Numbers, set the                SYNCHROLEVER
    pointer  at the corresponding intermediate position on  the           GUIDENO. POINT ER
    scale. Example: if the Guide Number  is 50, Set the Guide      GUIDENO. SCALE
   No. Pointer halfway between40 and 60.)

                                                Install a  fresh Jet Charger when  the Jet-O-Matic                              Pressure
                             Release      nrotor runs sluggishly or stalls conrpletely (after 6-8
                           Valve           rolls of 20 exposure film, or  if canrera has been idle
                                       in Open      6-8 months). To be sure of peak 1'rerformancewhen
                                 Position      nraking an extended series of pictures, install a fresh
                                            Jet Charger:
                                 1. Use the 'Manual Advance Lever to make sure filnr has advanced
                           and shutter is cocked, then insert edge of coin into slot of pnrs-
                        suRE RELEASEvALVE and turn so that the slot is in the position
                           shown. Pull the Shutter ReleaseLever all the way over to "Posi-
                                  tion J" and allow  it to return. The renraining COe will be re-
                              leasedwith a bissing sound, This action will  trip the shutter and
                              take a picture, but the film will  not be advanced,nor will  the
                                 shutter be recocked at this tinre.*
                                 2. lYait  lor  hissing to stop, indicating that  all gas pressure has
                           been released.
