RETAINING SPRING KIT

FOR 28 X 3 GRAPHIC BACKS
FOR GRAPHIC ROLL HOLDERS

GRAFLEX INC,.ROCHESTER 3,N.Y.

SPRING KIT "23"
Instructions for Fitting

This kit consists of two special spring clips and two 1/4" long round head machine
screws. It is intended to convert Graphic Backs to accept the Graphic Roll Holders
and the Gravhic Film Pack Adapters.

Remove the screws holding the top and bottom focusing panel springs. It may be
necessary to place a small drop of alcohol around the screw if it is locked in
place. A small cross-point screwdriver will fit the screws in the Pacemaker
Graphic Cameras and a standard flat bladed screwdriver will fit other cameras.

Place the focusing panel and springs to one side for future use, Be careful not
to lose the large washers between the springs and the back of the camera on Min—
jature Graphic Cameras, or the small washers on the pins of the panels from the
Pacemakor Graphics.

Keep the large washers in place on the back of the camera and place the roll holder
on the back with the carriage removed and the cover open. Position the clip "feet"
close against the side walls of the back, and tighten down with the scrows removed

from the focusing panel springs or those provided horewith.

NOTE: If the holdor is pulled backward against the clips, the "foot" or end of
tho spring, which must be small to allow usc on different cameras, may snap off
the top of tho faco plate of the holder. It will then hold the roll holder away
from tho back and allow light to loak in ané fog the film. To roscat, pull the
spring up and snap ovor tho top of tho faco plate of tho roll holder, or romove
ontiroly and rofit as abovo.

Although it is not intondod to bo readily interchangeable whon those spring clips
aro uscd, tho Graphic Roll Holder can bo romovod and the film pack adapter used
intorchangoably with it.

The roll holder may be removed, evon when loaded, by rcmoval of the lowcr spring
clip. Tho recess in tho bottom of roll holder carriage allows access to the screw
holding this clip in place.

Ig the roll holder is not loaded, it may not be nocessary to romove this clip.
Opon the cover, remove tho carriage, lift tho baso away from the camera back and
slide out. However, unless tho clips are lifted slightly, thoy will scratch tho
finish of tho holder. When attaching the film pack adaptor or refitting the roll
holdor, it may bo necessary to lift the springs up a little. Note that the roll
holder carriage must bo romovod and the cover must bo open.

NOTE: If tho back of tho camora is fitted with wood rather than machino screws,
do not attompt froquont removal and rofitting of tho clips, since tho holes will
become cnlargod and tho scrows will not hold.
