SY-NCHRONARS are available in either two ce1l
(ZL,-Z) ot three cell (2lr-3) units. Each possess
the same solid brass, durable case, which is nl protected by a heavy plating of chrome. The
chrome plating has a very high lustre which can
be maintaj-ned by an occasional cleaning with al-
cohol and a soft cloth.

with consistent results. The internal silver
contacts provide an added advantage in consis-
tent dependability and positive action.
The socket assembly consists of a highly
functional stnrcture providing rapid insertion
and ejection of lamps. The stainless steel
spring adjusts -itself automatically i.:: applying
the proper pressure to hold the lamp in the cor-
rect position. A slight twist of the lamp when
inserting accomplishes this action.

ejector button removes the lamp with the least

Each of the outlets on the SYIICHRONAR is labeled for the purpose for which
it is to be used. The center, rlRemoterl outlet is used only for a remote
control cord, or with cords to s;mchronized shutters. The former would
be a HEILAND Sl-tO Cord, and the latter would be a I{EILAND 57 Cora (for
double prong synchronized shutters), !B Cord (A.S.A. Flash Shutters), 60 Cord (KIio'or Prontor Synchronized Shutters), or 61 Cord. (Kine Exacta).-
A1so, in use with a twin gun arrangement, the remote outlets of two SIN-
CHRONAF-S may be connected by means of a HEILAND 5l+-1 Polarj-zed Cable, the
structure of the outlet naking polarizati-on autonatj-c. Some of the older
HEITAND Cords of this nature will have both male prongs of equal si-ze,
and in this case it will be necessary to file one of the prongs to accom-
plish the proper fit.

outlet may be used with an extension cord (mfUm 1t-ZO, 55-ZO) connect-
ing the SYNCHRONAR to a Multi-Socket, or sjmilar extension flash unit.
An outlet i-s provid.ed toward the front of the SYNCHRONAR, near the switeh ":
buttbn, for electrical focusing devices, This outlet is rthotrf at all
times, and polarization is indicated for conveni-ence. This outlet is de-
signed for use with cords furnished wi-th the electrical focusing devices, '
but FIEILAND does not nanufacture a cord for this purpose.

a tripod. socket (+-20 size), for supporting the unit on a tripod. or _ =:il FIEILAND FOTOCLAMP:
IIEILAND S$CI{RONARS may be equipped. with either the 11373 Model E Battery
case clamp (Screw-lock type), or by one of a series of Heavy Duty Mounts
designed for specific caneras. For proper rigidity and security, the
SYNCHRONAR should be fitted with HEILAND mounts.
CAUTION: Only Photoflash Batteries should be used. in the SU{CI{RONAR"
Flashlight Batteries will not provide consistent results and are not re-
corunended.ThereareSeveralgoodbrandsofPhotofIashBatterieswhich
are reconmended: Bright Star, Ray-O-Vac, or Burgess. Batteries should
indicate about 10 amps on a reliabre ammeter. rf they drop below Z amps,

The SYNCHRONAR is a versatile unit; it may be used with several caneras,
each having separate solenoids, or built-in-flash mechani-sms. It will
perforrnequa}Iywe}1undertheseconditions,assuringi|so'rneranex-
cerlent investment, providing years of excelrent service.
