Description www.orphancameras.com
Your Honeywell/WeinFlash Meter reads the brief burst of light
from your electronicflash unit and integratesit with the ambient
light to provide an accurateexposurelight reading. The meter
measureseither direct, bounce or bare bulb flash and inter-
prets the reading in direct f/stops. The reading is permanently
recordeduntil the meter is manuallyreset by the operator.
The meter reads incident light only. Therefore, the meter must
be pfaced close to the subject and pointed directly at the
cameralens.
Since the flash meter is designed to read flash exposuresof
1/3000 second or longer, the f lash meter will not measurethe
light output of an automaticflash unit accuratelywhen flash
durationsare shorterthan 1/3000of a second.
The Model WP500Band WP1000
FlashMetersare identical,except
the Model WP1000 is equipped www.orphancameras.com
for an increased f/stop range
(t/2 - f/90) and additional ac-
curacy is built into the unit. The
WP1000has a switch below the
ExposureDial Knob to increase
the f/stop rangefrom t/22 to f/90.

Zero adiust
To zero adjust your f lash meter,
                            set the ON-OFF-TESTswitch (6)
to OFF and turn the zero adjust
screw (2) until the needle is cen-
'0' position on the tered on the
                       meterscale(1).

Alternateexposuremethod
                       To establish a working guide
                      number to avoid constantmeter-
ing of the subject, set the flash
unit ten feet from the meter and
take a test reading. The most ef-
                            fective guide number is then
                        found by multiplyingthe reading
                         by 10 feet.

EXAMPLE: lf the flash meter in-
dicatesf /8 atterflashingthe unit
at 10 feet, multiplyf/B x 10 feet
to establisha guide numberof 80.
Set the calculatoron your flash
unit to this guide number. Now
the calculatorbecomesthe f/stop
