Hailed as a milestone in rural community medicine and built at a
cost of $2,500,000. (To which 80%, of all local families contribu-
ted). Hunterdon Medical Center opened its doors in July 1953
with 106 beds, 22 bassinets and a sepuiate diagnostic wing. It is
affiliated with New York University-Bellevue Medical Center under
the latter's Regional Hospital Plan.
