FTASHCUBE OPERATION
The flashcube is inserted into the socket
on the upper left-hand corner on top of
the camera.
The flashcube must be rotated in a counter
clockwise direction after each flash picture
has been taken. It is moved by turning the
knurled knob on the side of the camera
(see illustration), or by holding the cube
and turning it in a counter clockwise
direction.
BE SURE TO KEEP TRACK OF THE
NUMBER OF FLASH PICTURES YOU
HAVE TAKEN. EACH FLASHCUBE
TAKES 4 PICTURES. DO NOT AT-
TEMPT TO TAKE A "FIFTH'' FLASH
PICTURE.
When the fourth flash picture has been
taken, the cube can be ejected by pressing
the ejector lever (See illustratioq). This
will "pop out" the used flashcube. Be sure
to advance the film and the flashcube after
each picture to prevent accidental double www.butkus.us
exposure.
FTASH PICTURES
Your camera is designed to use the new flashcube which takes
four flash pictures. The camera uses AAA photoflash batteries.
It is important that fresh batteries be used at all times. Weak
batteries are a major cause of flash picture failure. If batteries
have been in the camera for more than three months, it is
recommended that they be replaced with fresh batteries.
If your camera is to be put away, or unused, for any length of
time, remove the photoflash batteries to prevent deterioration
and damage to the camera caused by aging of the batteries.
Blue colored flashcubes are used for taking indoor pictures on
black and white as well as color film.View original page 7Page 8 · Read text
FTASH EXPOSURE INFORMATIONwww.butkus.us Whether you use black and white or color film, your camera does not require any exposure adjustment. Consult the distance chart on the back plate of the camera. By staying within the limits of the distances recommended on this chart. vou are assured of accurate exposures. RUIES FOR BETTER PHOTOGRAPHS o Be sure to operate the shutter lever and other controls on your camera a few times before you load it with film if it has been stored away for more than a few months. These prelimin- ary operations will insure smooth working, and will tell you if your camera is in the proper operating condition before you attempt to expose any film. o Hold your camera steady and level. The slightest movement will cause blurring and a loss of sharpness in your picture. o Be sure subject is centered and fully visible in your view- finder before taking a picture. o When taking flash pictures, use a steady firm pressure on the shutter lever. Do not press the shutter lever very slowly. This could cause a premature firing of the flashcube. o Load and unload your camera in a shaded place. Do not expose the film to direct sunlight. o Develop your film as soon as possible after taking your pictures. r Keep your viewfinder and taking lenses clean. Do not touch them with your frngers. Wipe them only with a soft dry cloth or lens brush. o Be sure to use a new flashcube after everv fourth indoor flash picture. o Check the distances indicated on your exposure chart when taking indoor pictures.View original page 8

During loading or unloading of the film, never allow the
film to loosen on the spool. This may cause the film to
become light-struck and ruin it.
