Before attaching unit to
your camera, insert two "C" size dry cells. These are available at most photo
supply dealers.
To insert batteries, depress the small round button which protrudes through the
small hole, located about an inch below the top of the battery case. Grasp the
reflector and gently pull outward. (Synchronizer Cord must not be attached to
battery case when removing reflector. )
Insert the base of the batteries first, that is, the top of the batteries should be
toward the top of the battery case. After inserting batteries, replace the reflector
by gently pushing its base into the battery case until the button clicks into place.
Batteries should give you at least six months service with ordinary care and use,
and may last longer. The greatest single cause for flash failures is weak or rundown
batteries. Avoid trouble and disappointment by replacing batteries when they
have reached their expiration date.
The test lamp supplied is a standard 3.8 volt lamp which was purposely chosen
to minimize battery drain. It does not burn brightly and the intensity of its light
is not to be construed as an indication of the condition of the batteries. Replace-
ment test lamps may be either 1.8 or 2.) volt and are available at most photo-
graphic, hardware or dime stores.
