                                     will feel o slight cotch ofter which the knob will turn lightly thon before, but this is iust
                       o sign thot the shutter hos been cornpleiely cocked ond from this point only the film  is
                                 being wound. Turn knob until it completely stops.

                                  desired speed ot red point. In the KALIMAR REFLEX Model SL Comero, shutter speeds
                            con be set before or ofter cocking, but double exposures connot be mode.
@ Slow Shutter Speed diol     Slow,shutter speeds ore 1f 5 ond '1,/10. When using the slow shutter, set the Fost shutter
                               oI 1/25 ond,select necessory slow shutter speed. When using the Fost shutier, set Slow
                                    shutter ot 1/25 ond select necessory Fost shutter speed.
@  Set lever                  Push this lever in the direction indicoted by orrow ofter stort morks ore motched.
@  Film counter window.      The exposure number will oppeor  iri this window outomoticolly.
@  Preset ring                For presetting your lens, os exploined under coption "HOW TO USE THE PRESET".
@  Diophrogm ring           The octuql f-stop is ottoined by turning this ring.
O  Shutter releose button.    Do not press shutter releose button until film counter number hos fully oppeored in window
                           ond film tronsport knob is fully woirnd. A coble releose is ovoiloble for this button.
@  Focusing knob        A  I f3  turn will cover ronges tron 3fu feet to infinity.

IOAD'NG OF FILM:
  Open bock flop ond lood film ovoiding direct sunlight. iFeed film leoder poper
  beiween double rollers @.  With the bock flop open, turn film tronsport knob @
   until stori morks <-  -> on film leoder poper come to the red points @   Close
  bock flop, push set lever @ in the direction indicoted by orrow which will bring
  the letter S in ihe film counier window @, then turn knob @  until it stops ond
  number 1 oppeors in window @.  You ore now reody for your first exposure.
EXPOSURES  :
  Open finder hood (j) ond flop up mognifier @. Hold comero body wiih your   21  !eft hond, your forefinger on focusing knob @  Hold eye close to  mognifier
  ond focus by iurning knob @. When your composure ond focus ore decided,
   trip shutter by pressing shutter releose button @ with your right forefinger. The
  KALIGAR lenses incorporote preset odiustments os exploined loier, moking  it
   possible io compose your picture ond focus with the moximum brightness, ond trip                                                                    20
  ihe shutter without moving your eye from the finder.
  After tripping shutter, iurn film tronsport knob clockwise until it stops. This will
  wind the film ond cock the shutter ot the some time. ond you ore reody for your
  nexi exposure.
UNI.OAD'NG FILM:

   52mm F3.5 WIDE'ANGLE LENS:
A very speciol wide ongle lens for o 6 x 6 comero,
this consists of six elements of retrofocus type. Only
high quolity gloss is used ond its resolving power  is
excellent. This is the only lens of such short focol
length ond high speed ovoilqble for o 6 x 6 comero.
Toking ;gngle is 74 degrees; opertures from F3.5 to
F22 with click stops; focusing from infinity to 2 feet.

                            I 50mm F4 TELEPHOTO LENS:
     A single lens reflex ordinorily hos o long flonge
         focus which mokes use of the telephoto lens difficult
        becouse of  vignetting. The KALIGAR l50mm F4 lens
        overcomes this dif  f iculty by using  f ive elements of
         speciol design. High quolity gloss is used ond re-
         solving power does not drop ot the corners. A
          speciol effect is ottoined in close-up portroiture. Des-
          pite its size, its weight is very light;  incorporotes
         preset diophrogm. Toking ongle is 29 degrees; oper-
          tures from F4 to F22 with click stops; focusing from
           infinity to 5 feet. Uses Series Vl filters.

BELLOWS EXTENSION:
The KALIMAR Bellows Extension hos been speciolly desig-
ned for the KALIMAR REFLEX Comero. lts function is to
provide on odditionol vorioble omount of  extension
between the lens ond the comero body. This odded
extension becomes necessory when on increose in the
focusing ronge of the comero lens is desired, os in
close-up photogrophy. The KALIMAR Bellows Extension
is olso used to odopt long focus lenses to the comero
body by providing the proper extension ond the
meqns for focusing such lenses.

FLASH SYNCHRONIZATION:
X or FP contocts con be selected by moving synchro-
 nizotion selector @ to the right or lefi, occording to
 the type of flosh bulb used.

CAUTION:
Speciol core should be token when winding film trons-
port knob. Knob must be fully wound ond exposure
number must be in center of exposure counter window,
otherwise outomotic winding mechonism is lioble to iom
when shutter is pressed. Should the film tronsport
                                                                                                             f irst depressknob iom,  in order to releose knob,
shutter releose button. With button depressed, wind
knob until next exposure number oppeors in center of
exposure counier window, then releose button.  This
will free the mechonism without ony loss of exposure.

       HOW TO USE THE PRESET
         ln o single lens reflex comero, o single lens is used
      both os the toking lens ond finder.  lf the lens is
       stopped down to the correct exposure, the imoge op-
       peoring on the finder gloss is usuolly too dork ond
           it becomes difficult to compose ond focus. To over-
     come this difficulty, the KALIGAR  f 3.5 80 mm lens in-
       corporotes the preset ring. Preset the lens by turning
       preset ring @ to desired operture ot preset point V.
      Compose ond focus your picture with diophrogm  ring
   @ open, thot is, turned clockwise os for os it will
      go.  Just before tripping your shutter turn diophrogm
       ring counterclockwise until it stops, which will stop
     down your lens to the preset f-stop. The KALIMAR
      REFLEX MODEL SL Comero olso hos o builr-in field lens.
      Together with the preset, this will enoble you to toke
       pictures with the utmost eose.
