Precautions
o Be sureto turn off the PowerSwitchwhenWinderRZ is not in use.Addition-
   ally,when not used for prolongedperiods,removethe batteriesfrom the
  cartridgeand storeseparately.
o When usingcold batteriesor shootingat low temperatures,batteryperfor-
  mancedrops and the windermay becomeinoperative.Shouldthis occur,
  immediatelyturn off the PowerSwitch.When usingthe winderat low tem-
  peratures,care must be taken to preventthe batteriesfrom growingtoo
  cold.
o Whenthe performanceof the winder(filmadvance)growssluggish,replace
   allsix batteriesas soon as possible.
r Do not mix batterytypesor new andold batteriesin the cartridgeas this may
  leadto batteryleakage,damagingthe unit.
o When insertingbatteries,be sure the + polesmatchthe symbolsfound in
  the cartridge.
o BatteUlifevariesconsiderablyin accordancewiththe followingfactors:bat-
  tery type,batterybrand,freshnessof batterieswhen purchased,the condi-
  tions underwhichthe batteriesare storedfrom time of purchaseto time of
  use,temperatureat timeof use,whetherthe batteriesreceivefrequentor in-
  termittentuse,type of film (120or 220),whetherthe winderis usedfor con-
  secutiveor singleexposures.However,for maximumbatterylife,use fresh
  alkalinebatteries.
o Do not use nickelcadmium(Ni-Cd)batteriesin WinderRZ.

1. Completelyopen the WinderCouplerCoverof the       2. Fit the winderto the base of the camera,aligning
camerabocly.                                      the AlignmentPinswiththe two openingsof the cam-
                                                   era body. Next, lock winder to camera body by rotat-
                                                       ing the Lock Key clockwise.

UsingWinderRZ


Loada Roll Film Holderbeforehand,with the arrowof
the backingpaper alignedwith the Start Mark of the
FilmInsert.

(When testing the winder with an unloaded holder,
setthe R-M Leverto'M'.)





                                                          1. Turn on the PowerSwitch.
                                                            2. The film will automaticallyadvance to the first
                                                frame after pushingthe Start Buttonof the winder.
                                                            3. Upon pressing the Shutter Release Button, the
                                                exposurewill be made, film automaticallyadvanced,
                                             and shutter recockedfor the next exposure.
                                                          4. When the last exposureis made (#10 with 120
                                             and #20 with Z?Otilm),the film and backingpaperwill
                                                      automaticallybe wound on the Take-up Spool and
                                                    the winderwill then stop.

  the shuttercan not be released.At such a time,just pushthe start Buttonof
  the winderand the film will automaticallyadvanceto the nextframe,ready
   for shooting.
o when the ReleaseButtoncollar is set for the emergencyshutteroperation
  mode,the winderstart Buttonmustbe usedto advancethe filmaftertheex-
  posure.
o  lf the start Buttonis pressedwhile the R-M Leveris set to 'R', the winder
  may stop afterthe R-M Leverreturnsto its normal(central)position.lf this
  occurs,pressthe StartButtononce again.

RemoteControlPhotography


Remotecontrolphotographyis possiblewhenTrans-
mitterMZ and ReceiverMZareusedwithWinderRZ.

ReceiverMZ is plugged into the Shutter Release
Jack of the camerabody.Batteriesare not necessary
for the receiveras poweris suppliedby the winder.

Make sure the film is alreadyadvancedto the first
frame beforeusingTransmitterMZ, as it will not ad-                      'S'vancethe film from   (start)to the firstframe.

When usingZ Serieslenses,the S-C SelectorSwitch     Gonsecutiveexposuresare not possiblewhen using
of TransmitterMZ can be set for singleor consecutive    RB lenses. For single exposureoperationwith RB
exposures.                                          lenses,followthe procedurebelow.
                                                          1.'c'.Set the S-C SelectorSwitch of the transmitterto
                                                          2. Press the TransmissionButtonto make an expo-
                                                   sure.
