Your advanced interchangeable AE-S Finder features center-weighted metering by a silicon photo cell whose instant response and extra sensitivity maintain creative operation at low light levels. Mounted on the XM (XK) or XM (XK) Motor Drive body, its integrated circuits automatically set stepless shutter speeds for eight to 1/2000 sec. to provide proper exposure at the aperture set for the light being metered and other conditions. Speeds being set in auto mode or correct shutter speed for proper exposure ‘on manual are continuously indicated in the finder by stepless LED/digital readout, along with other necessary information: Lens aperture set, auto mode indication or shutter speed set on manual mode, and over-/under-range indications. A locking control allows setting the system to continuously provide up to two stops more or less exposure ‘than would be set automatically. This manual describes use of the AE-S Finder only with the Minolta XM (XK) camera, since its use with the XM (XK) Motor Drive is fully covered in the applicable camera owner's manual. Before using the AE-S Finder for the first time, be sure to read the applicable instructions and follow them carefully. Then save this manual for future reference.View original page 3
