MU LTIPLE.F LASH OPERATION
When using two dedicated flash units,
Control Grip CG-1000 can be set for either
lighting-ratio control or balanced flash
output.
Lighting-ratio control
With lighting-ratioswitch on, Control Grip
CG-1000 automatically controls flash output
from two units. During exposure,TTL flash
metering measures the amount of light
reflected off the subject so that two-thirds
of the exposure is made by the main flash on
the grip and one-third by the fill-in flash on
the camera.View original page 18Page 19 · Read text

Sync terminal
For special effects, such as to illuminate
the background in portraits, a third flash
unit can be connected to the grip's sync
terminal. TTL flash metering does not con-
trol output from this third unit. Thus it
should not be pointed directly at the
subject, as doing so may causeoverexposure.
Balancedflash output
When lighting-ratio switch is off, TTL
metering balances flash output from both
units. When Control Grip is used this way, X-
sync, daylight fill-flashand slow-shuttersync
are the same as with a single flash mounted
on camera.
