FANTASY CARD 2
(For use with Dynax/Maxxum 9xi, 7xi, 8000i, 7000i)
This Creative Expansion Card will provide soft-focus and zoom-
like effects using either focus shift during exposure, or the
overlapping of one image in focus and one image out of focus.
The soft-focus effect softens edges and details for a misty,
dreamlike feeling, and the zoom-like effect adds impact to your
pictures.
This card cannot be used with the following lens or flashes:
AF Power Zoom 35-80 mm f/4-5.6
Program/Maxxum Flash 4000AF/2B00AFi1 B00AF
Macro Flash 1200AF Set
O {{{ustrataons in this nranuaisirow the Dynax/fulaxxum 7xi.
FANTASY-CONTROL MODES
There are two exposure control modes that produce fantasy
effects: focus-shift mode and double-exposure mode.
O With the 8000i/7000i, only the focus-shi1t mode can be used.
Focus-Shift Mode
ln this mode, the camera will automatically shift the focus during
exposure to produce either a soft{ocus effect, a zoom-like effect,
or a mixture of the two. At first the subject will be exposed in
focus, and then, out of focus.
Soft-focus effect Zoom-like eftect
O The soft-focus effect will be more prominent if the depth of
freld is sma{|.
O The zoom-like effect will be more prominent if the depth of
field is large.
O Focus-shift mode may not operate in some light levels. When
the 9xi/7xi is used, the fantasy-control mode will be
ternporarily switched over to double-exposure mode. When
the 8000i/7000i is used, the shutter cannot be released.
Double-Exposure Mode
ln this mode, the shutter will be released twice for one frame
exposu re. ln the f irst
exposure, the subject will be
exposed in focus, and in the
second exposure, the subject
will be exposed out of focus.
By overlapping the two subject
images, the soft{ocus effect is
produced.
INSERTING THE CARD
1. Set the camera's main switch to ON.
2. Open the card door.
3. lnsert the card into the slot

Caution in Doubte-Exposure Mode
O After the flash fires for the first exposure, the flash-ready
signal in the viewfinder will not blink, even if flash output was
sufficient for correct exposure.
O RemoteMireless off-cameia flash control can be selected,

Tips on Fantasy Effect Photography
1. Effective lenses
For best results, use of the following lenses is recommended:
9xil7xi: AF 50 mm f12.8 Macro, AF 100 mm 112.8 Macro, or
telephoto lenses (longer than 50 mm).
8000i/7000i: AF 50 mm 112.8 Macro, AF 100 mm t12.8 Macro.
2. Use of tripod
ln fucus-shiftmode, whenaslawer-shr*tter speed is set, subiect
blur'rnay occur due to camera shake. ln double-exposure mode,
do not move the camera until after both exposures are made.
Use of a tripod is recommended for best results.
3. Producing a soft-focus or a zoom-like effect (in Focus-Shift
Mode)
To produce a soft-focus effect, use a telephoto lens or take the
picture in dark conditions where a larger aperture, hence smaller
depth of field, will be used. ln bright conditions, use an ND filter or
a slower-speed film.
To produce the zoom-like effect, use a wideangle lens or take the
picture in bright conditions where smaller aperture, hence larger
depth of field, will be used. ln low-light conditions, use additional
lights or a high-speed film.
4. Low-light background
Optimum results will be obtained when the background is dark. ln
backlit situations, a halo may appear around the subject when the
soft-focus effect is produced. Or, the bhckground may seem to
overlap the edges of the subject when the zoom-like effect is
produced.
CARE AND STORAGE
O Do not touch the contacts on the card. lf the contacts become
dirty, clean them with a clean soft cloth.
O Do not wipe the card with benzene, paint thinner, or other
chemicals.
O Do not store the card in a humid place.View original page 5Page 6 · Read text

TIPS ZUR FOTOGRAFIE MIT FANTASIE.EFFEKTEN
1. Objektivwahl
Objekts.
PFLEGE UND AUFBEWAHRUNG
O Die Kartenkontakte nicht beruhren. Bei eventueller
Verschmutzung die Kontakte mit einem sauberen, weichen
Tuch reinigen.
O Die Chip-Karte nicht mit Benzin, Lackverdunner oder anderen
Chemikalien in Beruhrung bringen.

1. Ollectifs les mreux appropri6s
Pot"r/ chacun des modes, I'ulilisation des objectifs suivants est_T-eco.*fu:.
9xilTxi: AF 50 mm tl2,B ou AF 100 mm tl2,B, ou t6l6ob.tectif
(focale sup6rieure d 50 mm).
8000i/7000i: AF 50 mmtl2,8 Macro, AF 100 mmtl2,8 Macro.
