APERTURE PRIORITY TTL (A.MODE} AUTOFLASH OPERATION

The Aperture Priority Mode can be used when you wish to control depth of field, increase
the flash range or achieve faster recycling. When the flashgun is charged, the x-sync speed
is set automatically, 1/100th sec. (SFXSF7\, 1l25th (SF-Xn).

To use flash in Aperture Priority Mode:
1) Set the camera to Aperture Priority Mode.
2l Switch on the flashgun at the Power Switch (12). When the flashgun is charged, the
Ready lndicator (3) will glow and the flash ready indicator in the camera's viewfinder
      will light up.
3) Set the lens to the desired aperture. Small apertures give the greatest depth of field
but have shorter flash ranges. Large apertures give the maximum flash ranges for
     distant sujects.
4l Partially depress the shutter release to automatically focus (or focus manually).
5) Fully depress the shutter release to take the picture. The flash will fire.

       the effect desired.

        For Manual TTL Autoflash operation:-
      1) Set the camera to Manual (M-Mode).
2l Set the desired shutter speed and aperture. For natural rendition of the background,
set the shutter speed and aperture according to the camera's built-in metering system.
Any shutter speed can be used but a tripod will be required to ensure a sharp
background when using slow shutter speeds.
NOTE:- lf shutter speeds are set which are too fast to synchronise, the camera will
automatically set to its fastest permitted sync speed when the flashgun becomes
18 charged.

www.butkus.us BOUNCE FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY
                                                                                                                                          I
The Bounce Head (15) on your Mirands P-AF36 is designed to tilt through 90" to facilitate bonce flash photography.
The indirect lighting from bounce flash gives softer illumination and in some situationsgives
       a more pleasing picture.
When checking flash ranges using bounce flash, the total flash to subject distance must be
taken into account. i.e. the flashgun to wall or ceiling distance, plus the ceiting or wall to
subject distance. NOT the flash to subject distance. Also the reflective surface absorbs
some of the flash, reducing the effective flash range.
    MACRO (CLOSE UP} FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY
when using the flashgun to photograph subjects at distances closer than 2 metres (6 ft.l,
the height of the flash head above the camera can c€ruse the lower part of the subject to be under illuminated.
The Bounce Head (15) can be tilted downwards, -5o belowthe horizontal to alleviate this effect. Slide the Macro Lock Button (2) to the right and hold it while you push the Head down to the -5o setting.
Always remember to lift the Head to the normal position after use. The Head will click into the 0 setting automatically.
