FOCUSING
When focusing your camera, first estimate the distance of the subject
from the camera. Set the distance scale on the forward rotating ring
at the black mark (V) betr.veen the two f 3.5 markings. For people I who use the camera for the f irst time, we recommend the following
steps. As shown in the chart below, when taking a photograph of a I near-byobject,set the red line of the aperture ring at F8 (red figure) '1 and the distance scale at 8 feet. The depth of field in this case
ranges from 6.5 to 13.9 feet, and everything within this distance
will be in sharp focus. I
When taking a photograph of a distant object, set the distance scale I
at 25 feet, while keeping the opening at F8. The depth of field in I this case is from 10.6'feet to infinity (-) and everything past 10.8
feet will be in sharp focus. Thus,by using two separate settings of the aperture and the disfance scale, any object. between 6 feet and I-t
infinity.can be brought into sharp focus without fail. In this way, I you wiII never have "out of focus'- photographs.
