Pressure Plote
, As you understond it, the best efti-
ciency of lens ond mechonism of
i comero con not be reolized unless
! the pressure plote gives the occurote
flotness. tn this point, the pressure 'plote tokes o very importont port in photogrophic science. it is
for the some reoson thqt the Olympus 35-S provides o pressure
plote of gloss, which is for superior to ony other moteriols in
flotness. Mony dots on the surfoce of the plote prevent the
film from sticking on it.
This is the film indicotor which reminds you the type of film in the
comero.
It should be set ot o proper posilion right ofler the film is looded.
This prevents the reretting.
To odiusl lhe setting, lift the rewinding knob ond ploce your finger

be ottoined by simply rototing the milled r:ng.

A subiect is most shorply defined when it lies ot fhe distonce
to which the lens is focused, ond its definifion groduolly deteriorofes
when the subiect is moved neorer to the comero or moved owoy
from the comero. However, even though fhe subiect moy not lie

difference is within limit, its defini-

I figures indicote the forthest plone.
I For exomple, your subiect lies ot l2 feet to which you focused.
In this cose the subiect ot 12 feet must be defined most shorply,

exomple, thot the lens opening is to be F | : 8. Other sublects from
obout 8 feet to 24 teet will come on sufficient shorpness, thot is, the
depth of field is from 8 feet to 24 feet. Reod the figures thot oppeor
