ond not to the lens opening. Proper exposure will be
hod when the correct lens opening ond shutter speed
ore determined.
o. lf the shutter speed is selected first, oim the
comerq ot the subiect ond you con reqd fhe proper
lens opening figure on the exposure meter diol
ot the point where the needle motches the lens
opening figure. lf the meter needle indicotes no

Between the focusing ring ond shutter speed diol on the Normol ond Wide Angle Lenses, ond between the focusing ring ond f/stop diol on the Telephoto Lens is foupd the DEPTH OF FIELD SCALE. On the scole ore 2 sets of identicol numbers, referring to the f/stop being used. These numbers hove engroved lines pointing to the focus- ing ring. lf you ore using f f 11, for exomple, follow the lines thot go from the 2 " I I's." Whotever oppeors between these 2 lines on the focusing ring will be in shorp cleor focus. lf you ore using f/8, simply follow the lines from the 2 "8's" thot go to the focusing ring. Shorter focol length lenses give greoter depth of field. The forther owoy you ore focused, the greoter the depth of field. The smoller the f/stop, the greot4 the depth of field. Therefore, if you require o lorger oreo of the subiect to be obsolutely shorp, use o smoller f/stop. (The smoller the f/stop, the lorger the f/number.) Wirh the fine ZUIKO LENSES found on the Olympus Ace-E regordless of your f/stop or distonce, whotever you ore properly focused on will be needle shorp.View original page 20
