SMALL ACCESSORIES
1 . Filters
Your Pax-35 lens will give you pictures of
excellent sharpness ; but the mood of the picture
can often be improved by using filters.
Yellow filters help to bring out the clouds and
are a " mugt tt for snow scenes and scenes at sea
shore.
Green filters lighten red color and will bring
out greens in landscapes. Also recommended for
out-door portraits.

2. Lens hoods
Lens hoods are valuable lens accesrories and
chould be uced whenever possible. They preventr-
stray light from intering the lens and give pictures
that crisp look. Care should be taken to use a
large enough lenc hood on your Pax -35. Using
one too small may caure the corners to be cut off
of the picture.

Out-door Pictures
ln takiog out-door pictures there are three
things to watch out for: bald skies, flat lighting,
and incorrect exposure.
(- I ) Bald skies are easily corrected by the use
of an appropriate filter or by the use of proper
film which will darken the skies without the use of
any filter. Don' t forget that overexposure will
cancel out the effect of a filter, while a slight
underexposure will take the place of one.
(2) Flat lighting can be overcome by avoiding
the middle of the day for picture taking.
(3) The best way to avoid incorrect exposure
is to use a photoelectric exposure meter. The
danger with most out-door shots, especially land -
scapes and distant scenes, is overexposure.

Flash Photography
Your Pax-35 is equipped with built-in syn-
chronization to meet almost every PurPose. Flash
photography is, under many conditions, the only
way in which natural, unposed pictures can be
made. For indoor sports, such as basket ball,
boxing, wrestling, etc. synchro flash photography
is ideal. lt is also suited for photographing the
baby, children and animals, catching their unPre-
dictable activities, protecting them against uncom-
fortable heat and glare of photofloods.
