mm telephotosetting. When you press the zooming lever to the left (f ll), the lens moves towardsthe wider-angle
38 mm setting. Releaseyour finger from the zooming lever when you've framed the compositionin the best possible
way through the viewfindel and press the shutter releasebutton.

Automatic film speed setting
This camera is designedto use DX-codedfilms with ISO
ratingsfrom 50 to 1600. When such film is loaded,the
camera automaticallysets itself for the film's speed.
Notes:
o When buying DX film, make sure the packagebears the
"DX" mark.
o Non-DXfilm cannot be used.
o Use high-speedfilm with an ISO ratingof 1000or higher
for shootingindoorsor dimly lit conditions.

Hard-to-autofocussubiects,
Like many other autofocuscameras,this camera's
autofocussystem is highly precise,but it may not
focus exactlyas you wish on certain subjects. In
such cases, use the focus-locktechniqueon a
subjectwhich is both near the actual one and at an
equal distancefrom the lens.
Subjectswhich are hard to autofocusinclude:
1. Black objects,like hair, which don't reflect much
light
(and thereforedon't reflect infraredautofocus
