G. Setting

After lifting up the small handle (1)
(Fig. 3) turn the winding knob (2)
(Fig. 3) until the two red dots on
knob (6) (Fig. 3) come together. The
shutter is then wound.
(Instruction only re Reflex II.)
Should you require the longer speeds
( lro th - 2 sec) set the knob 5 (Fig' 3)
at B, and wind the shutter. Now set
the small knob 5 a (Fig. 3) marked
t/ro th - 2 sec at the required speed. (If
the knob runs back you have not fully
wound the shutter.) In releasing on the
tlarger speeds l ,oth- 2 sec retain pressure
on the release knob or cable until the
shutter has travelled right across, other-
wise the shutter will close sooner than
it should.

Open the back of the cameru by pressing
the button in the direction of the arrow.
Pull out the rifled spool - grip - button
(") (Fig. 1) with the left hand and fasten
it by a short winding to the right. Now
put in the spool of film (b) (Fig. 2)

spool-grip-tap by the right hand and pay
hereby attention, that the pointed end
of the protecting paper points out to
the empty spool being above. By dis-
bolting of the spool-grip-button a (Fig. Z)
the same springs with its combination-
tap into the fiIm-spool.
After breaking the gummed paper draw
the pointed end of the film backing-
paper over the rollers toward the empty
spoolo and fasten the film by threadiog
the pointed end of the backing paper
through the long slit in the empty spool.
It is essential to make sure at this point
that the film is running exactly in the
middle of the film track. A few turns of
the film-winding knob (2\ (Fig. 3) will
suffice to tighten the backing - paper.
After closing the camerao turn the film-
winding knob in short turns until first
a hand, then dots and then the Figure I
appears in the red window.

window in the back, press the button (4)
(Fig. 3) of the film countero and the film
counter automatically springs back to

The red window in the back of the ca-
mera can now be ignored for the further
winding of the film. The numbers of the

window of the film counter (3) (Fig. 3)"
After turning winding-lever 2 (Fig. 3) tothe stop, focal'plane'shutter is everset. I
But because way of film is a longer one,
film-spool must be brought by further "
short turn of the lever up to the feeling
stop. Shutter is ready for next exposure.
d. Openi,r, rhe View Finder
Hood.
By simply lifting up the metal cover (7)
(Fig. 3) fully, the view finder hood auto-
matically springs into the ready position-

The Focal plane Shutter speeds can be
altered at any time either before or after
winding the shutter bY lifting the
shutter setting knob and placing the
required speed opposite the line near
the centre screw (5) (Fig. 3). Focussing

from 3 feet to infinity is done by turning
the riog (12) Fig. 3) until the image is
dead sharp on the ground glass screen.
The magnifying glass on the outside of
the back of the View-finder hood should
be brought into position if required for
this purpose. Altering of lens aperture
(N[t. 11, Fig. 3) can be made as required.
l. Exposure of the Plctur€.
All other points being clearo we may
now go on to the exposure? a light press
on the trigger or cable release (10) (fig.l)
trifts the mirror and the shutter funktions.
The first picture is now taken. Then
wind up rhe knob (2) Fig, 3) fully, as
described under (") the setting of the
Shutter) turn the same knob a little
further up to the feeling stop. The
camera is ready for the second exposrlre.
Use a tripod for time exposuresin order to
avoid camera movement. A tripod screw
will be found on the bottom of the camera.

g. Shutting
rhe View Finder Hood.
Having made the desired exposure, and
having returned the magnifying glass to
its original position the hood may now
be shut by closing downo first the sides,
and then the back, after wich the metal
cover (7) (Fig. 3) will close down.
h. Toking ouf the exposed film.
After the last exposure (12th) turn the
film winding knob (2) (Fig. 3) in short
turns until the end of the red backing-
paper is seen in the back red window.
Then open the camera-back and hold
the end of the backing-paper while you
give the knob (2) (Fig. 3) a further turn
so that the backing-paper folds tightly
over the spool. Pull out the rifled spool-
grip-buttoo (a) and fasten it by turning to
the right, so that it is put out. The spool
may now be taken out of the camera.

carried out in Daylight but it is advisable
to keep the film out of the sun or any
other glaring light.
i. Direkr Vision View Finder.
If you want to take a quick snap-shot
at eye level lift up the frame (B) (Fig.3)
by the Korelle-Reflex nameplate and also
the finder to be found on the cover (71
(Fig. 3) and look at the required subject.
When the exposure has been made, fold
return both parts into the closed position.
i. The Foccrl Plone Shuller.
The Reflex . Korelle shutter is a Focal
Plane shutter, capable of instantaneoug
'lroospeeds of 2 second to of a second,
and time exposures.
The setting. of the shutter can be done
in two ways, in the first place as de-
scribed under heading (") on page 4 of
this instruction book, also by use of the
shutter-setting knob (5) (Fig.3) which is

turned until fully wound. The shutter is
then set. Te speeds are marked on the
shutter-setting knob (5) (Fig. 3). Method
described under heading (") on page I
of this instruction book.
k. Ghonging rhe Lenses.
If you wish to exchange the lens at
present in use for another onee screw
out the one lens from the lens mount
and screw in the other. In changing the
lenses make sure that the dots on the
mount and on the last ring of the lenso
come to rest exactly together. If this is
not precisely adhered to in the changing
of the standard lenses then the release
will be faulty owing to the impaired
movement of the mirror. The fitted
objectives must be only used for the
camera to which they have been fitted.
l. Single Exposutos.
Put a flat film in the camera in the
dark-room.

If you wish to use the delayed action
releasepress the trigger (13) (Fig.3) right
down, making sure at the same time that
the knob for engaging and disengaging
is set at A. When everything is ready
for exposure set the knob to B. Now
the shutter sharts working an after
10-12 secs, the shutter is automatically
released. After exposure set the knob
at A again, and the mirror returns to
the exposure position.
lr. Tele-Lenses, Yellow-Filters
ond Suh-Shodos.
Tele-lenses, yellow-filters and sun-shades
screwing in, can be used together for
objectives Victar, Radionar and Xenar in
focal-length 7,,5 cm. Screw out the ring,
holding the glass and screw in yellow-
filter or sun-shade.

Generol Points The Korelle - Reflex is so constructed that with careful use a long life is ensured. It is advisable to carry the camera in a case to proteCt it from dust. It is most important to keep the film track and rollers free from dust, as other- wise the film may be scratched. A small brush will be found useful for removiog the dust.View original page 16
