EXPOSUREIN FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY

ln octuol use, you connot get good resultsby merefy
motching up the floshbulb ond synchro mechonism
olone becouse it will either turn out underexposed
or overexposed. Here ogoin the vitol question is the
exposure. The exposure is determined by the bright-
ness of the floshbulb ond the distonce between the
floshbulb ond the subigct. This relotion is simply
represented by o guide number. When you purchose
floshbulbs, the guide number is olwoys cleorly given.
tf you divide the guide number by the distonce from
the subiectr /ou 'will know the proper f stop. In-
versefy, if you dividc the guide number by the f stop,
you will obtqin the distonce.
