Your  SAMOCA-V   con  be  converted   to   give
incident light reodings simply by ottqching the incident
ottqchment.





       DIRECT READING IN LVS NUMBERS


After setting the ASA settingfilm speed, toke the meter
reoding os previously described  f or  block ond white
                         'Lightfllm. The oppropriote      Volue' setting is seen in                                  'Light t h e op e n i ng o n  t h e d ; o l morked      Vqlue'. Set the
Light Volue scole of the comero shutter to corespond
with the Light Volue given by the meter.
                         Correct exposure w,ll now
                           result even   if  either the
                             f/stop or the shutter speed
                                   is chonged,  provided  th e
                           Light Volue setting remoins
                          constont.

GENERALSCENES
 Aime your meter directly of the scene or  center-of-interest
 from comero position.
 Point the meter of the foreground to  ovoid  "reoding"  ex-
 cessively bright sky.
 CLOSE.UPS
 Point the meter ot the subiect from o distonce of  obout 4
 inches. Avoid  costing o shodow on  the  subiect with the
 meter;  olso prevent the light source from shiningdirectly into
 the meter.
 The meter moy be directed ot the shodows ond the highlights
 ond  the  results overoged  to  yield  o  pleosing overoge
 exposure.

      The Americon Stondords Associotion hos ossigned
 -      numbers for  roting films occording to  their sensi-
        tivity  to  light. These numbers ore  colled ASA
      )exposure-index numbers, which, numericolly, ore
      higher for lhe more sensitive films ond lower  for
         tite less sensitive.
      .- -tne exposu.'. index number of  the  film must be
       su,rt on your meter before toking meosurement.
   2,  F-STOPS
           ,-r omount of  light fhot is ollowed to reoch the
                 .  ,s contrciled by the relotive size of the comero
             , -,.g opening.
      The  relotive lens opening, in most comeros, is
       odiustoble ond  is set occording to  o  numbqring
      system. These settings(relotive openings)ore cqlled
       f-stops ond ore mqrked on  your exposure meter
      ond cqmero.
