Move the rongefinder odiusting disc (il until one
imoge is super-imposed on the other. In the window
ot the top of the comero immediotely obove disc (i)
is found the correct comero to subiect distonce's for
proper focusing. Adiust the lens focusing ring (l)
until the distonce found by using the rongefinder
folls in line with block diomond shoped mork (t).
Your comero con be focused from 3.5 ft. to infinity
(distonces beyond 50 ft.).

Note: The numbers "8" ond '25' which ore morked
in red on the lens focusing ring, ore overoge sett-
ings for close ond distont pictures ond moy be used
when toking pictures quickly without using o ronge-
                   fi nder.
        Determining Correct Exposures
Correct exposure is determined by using the proper
com, binotion of two comero settings; lens opening
or f/stop ond shutter speed. The proper combinotion
of those two settings depends upon the subiect,
omount of light, ond type of film used. A guide to
exposure volues is found in most pockoges of film,
however for more occurocy it is best to use on ex-
posure mete,r to determine correct settings.
        lens Openings
The lens openrings determine the omount of light 'co,mero entering the to the film. Your comero hos
       7 f ens openings nonging from f :2.9 to f 222. The lower
the f/stop numrber, the wider the lens opening ond
the greoter the omount of light entering the come'ro.
For exomple f:2.9 lets in the greotest omount of
light while f 222lets in the smollest omount. To odiust
the lens opening, move the lens indicotor lever (n)
to cover lens stop desired on lens stop scole (o).
         Pre-set Lens Opening
A sm,oll red dot on the lens stop scole (o) indicotes
on overoge setting for bright cleor doys. By moving
the lens indicotor lever (n) to cover this dot ond olso
odiusting the lens focusing ring (l) till the red num-

con pre-set your comero, ond hove it reody to toke
pictures on cleor ond sunny doys using block ond
white film.
A chort with overoge lens settings for most weother
conditions is found with most pockoges of film,
however for the rqost occurote settingr use o light

Depth of Field
After setting o definite distonce by moving the tens

scole (p) is provided. Once you hove set the focus-
ing ring to the indicotor mork reod upword to the
depth of field scole ond find the lens opening
(f/stop) on which your comero is set. The depth oT
field scole gives 2 sets of lens openings, one to eoch
side of the block indicotor mork. By reoding down-
word from eoch lens opening on the depth of field
scole to the focusing ring vou wil'l find the oreo in
focus in both the foreground ond bockground. For
exomple: Your comero is set of f :l I ond you ve mov-
ed the lens focusing ring until the number "8" hos

turn the rimmed odiustment ring (q) until the red
indicotor line (r) folls on desired speed shown on top
of lens mount. For speeds under 1/zs second it is besf
to use tripod or similor support. A tripod moy be
screwed into the tripod socket locoted next to button
        (g) on the bottom of the comero. For normol oction
picture foking on cleor sunny doys ,o shutter speed
of 1/oo is usuolly odequote; for fost oction pictures
use l/soo. For most occurote results use o light meter.
IMPORTANT: Before toking ony exposure the shutter
must be cocked by moving the tension lever (t) to
J the right.

     TAKING FTASH PICTURES
A flosh unit moy be ottoched to the boyonet mount
(k), ottoched with o mounting device to the tripod
socket, or held seporotely. In order to synchronize o

sures moy be set by moving Synchro lever (v) to sett-
       ing desired.
          l. For ordinory doylight exposures set of "M" or"X".
         2. Use "X" setting for synchronisotion of electronic
flosh with oll shutter speeds, ond for flosh lomps
with 1/zs second ond lower speeds.
nMu 3.Use setting for synchronizotion of M-type

locked together; thus when you move the rimmed
odiusting ring (q) to o new speed setting, the lens
indicotor lever (n) moves to o new setting olso; this
enobles you to move from slow to fost oction pic-

      winding knob (b).The two
       scoles morked (ASA ond DIN)
