The Soligor Selector Cds Exposure Meter is a precision lnstrument for determining
automatically the correct combination of F-stop and shutter speed and/or EY value.
This photometer contains a high sensitivity Cadmium Sulphide cell, which is capable
of measuring great variations in light intensity, including candlelight. For maximum
accuracy, the sensitivity is divided into two ranges, with red push button (2) and
green push button (3) controlling the high and low sensitivities respectively.
SETTING THE FILM SPEED.
Rotate the inner dial on the face of the meter, so that the ASA (DlN) f ilm speed
(as supplied by the film manufacturer) is seen in the ASA (DlN) window (10).
OPERATING @NTROL BUTTONS FOR SENSITIVITY
SELECTION.
For bright /normal lighting condition, depress the green button switch. This will I
cover Exposure Values of 9-18 (at ASA 125)..
For low lighting conditions, depressing the red button switch (2) increases the
sensitivity 125X, compared with the range operated by the green button switch. The
high sensitivity range (red button) should only be activated when the low light
tevels cause the needle to barely move or remain at the zero point. Low level range
wilf cover Exposure Values ot 2'10 (at ASA 125).

close to the subject as possible, without interfering with the light source.
            (a) Press the green button for normal light conditions
            (b) The needle will react.
            (c) Turn the outer dial of the meter, so that the green reference point (7) is
aligned with the needle reading. You now have a direct reading for variousI combinations of shutter speeds and F-stops. ,

     THE MERCURY BATTERY.
All Cds melers, including the Soligor Selector Cds, are powered by a mercury battery.
Normaf lif,e of the mercury battery is I l/z to 2 years. During virtually its entire
operating life the battery's output level is constant, dropping off sharply only
                                                          f inal expiration. lust before

To replace battery, unscrew the cover of the battery compartment ( 1 5 ) and remove
battery. Replace only with Mallory RM 625R or PX 13, available at most camera
dealers. Positive side of battery must face up towards co\er.
      ZERO ADJUSTMENT.
In the event that the indicator needle does not return to the zero mark on scale
         (5) use a small screw driver and turn adjustment screw (14) slightly until needle
           return to zero position.

I,l GAUTION:
Avoid unnecessarily long exposures to excessively bright light, as this will tend
to affect the cell's responsiveness for a brief time thereafter. Also avoid strong
shock or moisture. Treat the instrument as you would your fine camera.
