When the unit is used for the first time il moy toke up to two minutes until the pilot
light glows, indicoting thot your Ultimo 300 is reody to be fired. This is not on
indicotion lhot the unit is defective. lt merely indicoles thot rhe condenser which wos
nol used for o while is toking up chorge.

ATTACHING TO CAMERA AND TO SHUTTER
Attoch unit lo comero by sliding brocket info comero occessory shoe ond tighlening
the lorge screw. With unit securely mounled on comero, plug PC tip of synch cord
into flosh terminol on comero. Moke certoin thot your comero shulter is set for
X synchronizotion, ond to the speed recommended
for zero-deloy electronic floshunits. Use of shutter
speeds l/60th second or fosler is recommended,
where possible.
NOTE:
The durotion of ULTIMA 3o0 flosh is l/l000th
second, which will ef fectively stop fost oclion,
regordless of shutler speed setling.

Open bottery comportment by pushing bock the lid. Comporlment holds 4 penlite \boileries. Insed bolleries with relolion to (+) ond (-) os shown on unil.

BATTERY OPERATION
Slide ON/OFF switch lo ON position. You will heor o sustoined high-pitched
'beep' indicoling thol lhe unit is in operotion. When the reody-light begins to glow,
the unit is reody to be fired. With fresh botleries,
the reody-light will go on in obout 3-5 seconds, I ond will recycle in obout lhe some time ofler
eoch llosh. J A. set of fresh zinc-corbon botteries will deliver
obout l50 floshes before replocement becomes

DETERMINING EXPOSURE
Rotote the ouler ring of the Exposure colculotor on the unit until the orrow points lou
the ASA (or DIN) speed roting for the film in use. The correct lens operture will

Another method for obtoining the correct f stop is the use of film guide numbers.I
Dividing the guide number by the sublect distonce gives the numericol volue of the
f -stop to be used. For exomple, using ASA 2OO film, the guide ntrmder would be 80.
