        Inserting Battery:
             1. Remove the Battery Compartment Cover (l) and insert the Mercury Battery (2) 1.3 volt
Mallory R. M. 625(PX-13) into the Compartment (3). (Plus mark of the battery outward). Replace
the cover firmly. The cover can be screwed out and in with a coin.
             2. When the meter is not in regular use it is advisable to remove the battery as this prevents
accidental switching on of the meter. Normally the battery should not need replacement for at
                 least one year.
        Setting the Film Speed:
Set the ASA speed of the film in the ASA indicator windows (4) by rotating ASA speed dial
                 (5) using the ASA speed dial knobs (6).
       Using the Meter:
             1. Take the exposure meter and press the High On-Off srvitch (7) if the subject is in bright light.
The needlc (8) will then deflect and point a figure on the High Scale (9). Read off this fig-
ure and transfer it onto the indicator scale (10) at the indicator spot (11) bV rotating the
F-stop dial (12). The accurate combination of shutter speeds and aperture settings (F-stop)
can be obtained on the Shutter Speed Scale (14) and F-stop scale (13).
             2. If the subject is in subdued light, press the Low On-Off switch (15) and read off the figure
from the Low Scale (16) instead of High Scale. Then do exactly the same as stated in Para-
               graph l.
             3. When using the meter with a cine camcra the correct combination of F-stop and cine f rame
speed can be obtainedon the Cine Scale (17) and F-stop scale (13).

4. If the Low On-Off Switch is pressed and the needle deflects to the 1 end of the scale, press the H On-Off switch instead of Low On-Off
   Switch. 1
5. ExposureValue Numbers (E.V.) are shown in the E.V. window (18).If
the camera in use has an E.V. scale these numbers are then directlv
transfered onto the camera shutter settings.
Zero Adj usting:
When the On-Off switches (7 & 15) are off, the needle should stay on
the Zero Scale (19) If not, adjust the needle's position by use of Zero
Adjusting Screw (20) .
General Notice:
This CdS Exposure meter is a precision instrument with an extremely
high sensitivity and requires careful handling despite the fact that it
has a sapphire movement and that shock resistance has been increased by
careful assembly of the moving parts. Falls and knocks should at all
times be avoided. The case helps to protect the meter and use of the
neckstrap helps to prevent accidental dropping of the meter.
Color Photography: i
C"*f,,lb, f"Mich come with every color film.
Light and dark colors and the various shades of daylight are a large
factor in determining the exposure speed in color photography more so
than in black and white. When usinga new type of color film make
test exposures so that you get to know the latrtude of the film. printed in Japan
