TARON-MARQUIScan be called the first 35mm lens shutter type camera equippedwith
a perfect coupling system by CdS light meter. lt is the result of original and ingenious
skill which solves automaticallyall exposure problemsby itself.
TARON-MARQUS'sCdS light meter is coupled to the three important factors of photo-
taking before releasingot shutter button,i. e. ASA film speed, shutter speed and lens
  aperture.
You have only to see the color indicator visible in the view-finder and easily can
control the shutter speed and lens aperture. Then, you iust release the shutter button
and you will be delightfully surprised to f ind that all your pictures are correctly exposed.

CADMIUMSULPHIDELIGHT METERT
The light meter buitt-in the TARoN.MARQUIsworks by means ol cadmium sulphide
Cells, which is consideredhas various excellences.
The Seleniumexposure meter so far generates erectricity himself according to the
strength of light passed through the window. cds light meter, however, is operated
by variation of electric resistance using another source of electricity. CdS light meter
of rARoN-MARQUISis accompaniedwith the smailest 1.3 vorts mercury battery as the
source of electric power and the couplingrange is expandedfrom LV4( f2:*sec.) to
LVl7(f 16:l/500 sec.) at ASA 100 by its high degreeof -sensitivity.
Further, CdS light meter requiresso small
light window that needs only an angle of
40 degreesin case of TARON-MARQUISwhich
is almost same angleof TARONARFl.8 lens.
It means that you can measurewith more
accuracy if comparewith the Seleniumex.

I coRREcrEXPoSURE

Correct exposuremeansallowingtne correct amount ot light to reach the f ilm. Thethree
factors requiredfor the exposureare ASA film speed, lens aperture and shutter speed.
The speedof the ordinaryfilm, known aS "X" grade, is expressedas ASA 50, the
"XX" grade which is twice aS fast aS "X" grade is ASA 100, and the'"XXX" grade
which is twice the speed of tl'ie "XX" grade or four times faster than the regular "X"
film is ASA 2OO. The laiger the ASA number the faster film speed. Therefore, this
ASA speed is a very important factor. But when using TARONMARQUIS,one has only
to adjust the ASA scale once at the beginningand can immediatelyforget all about
     it during the various exposures.
The f irst functionof the shutter speed is to control the amount of light reaching
the'film. lf the speedis too fast the film will receive veU little light, while if it
is too slow, it would receive too much light. And as the shutter sipeedis coup'
led to the light meter and a signal is visible in the viewfinder, the correct exposure
can be easily obtainedwhile you watchingthe signal, in case of TARONMARQUIS.
Anotherf unction of the shutter speed is to take still pictures of fast moving
subjects. lt is great fun to stop moving subjects by aiming f rom,the front, the side
   and aslant positions. I
The iris diaphragmof the lens opens or closes its blades to control the amount of
incominglight. And as this too is coupledto the light meter in the same way as the
shutter speed, the lens can be set at the correct f -stopby meansof the signal visible
   in the viewfinder.

USINGTHE FILTEnI

Whenusing a filter on the lens, the exposureindexof the filter shouldbe taken into
considerationwhen decidingon the exposure. This is readilyfound from the descriptive
matter which accompaniesthe filter. lf the index is stated to be 2, the ASA scale of
the camera shouldbe set at the next lower graduation, when it is 4 it should step
down two graduations. For example,if xx film is used, the ASA reading should be
100 if without the f ilter, but if you attach a f ilter with an indexof 2, the ASA scale
should be set at the 50 mark. lf the index is 4, it shouldbe set at ASA 25, and so
on. After this, follow the ordinarymethod of exposuresetting as alreadyexplained.I

DEPTHOF FIELDANDFIXEDFOCUSI
The distance between the camera and the subject can be automaticallymeasuredby
means of the coupledrange-viewfinder.But, beside the point at which it has been
focused, there is a range of sharpnesswhich extends to the foregroundas well as to
the backgroundof the subject. This is called "Depth of Field" and all objects within
it are in acceptablesharpness. The depth of f ield becomes greater as the distance
to the subject is increasedor the lens aperture is reduced. To know the depthof field
for any given lens aperture, pleasesee DEPTHOF FIELDTABLEon next page.
Fixed focus means keepingthe lens previouslyfocused at a distance which gives
maximumdepth of field so that there is no need to adjust the focus every time. The
fixed focus for TARON-MABQUISis to set the F-stop at 8(indicatedby the red mark)
and the distance at 30 feet, which means that all subjects within the rdngeof 12 feet
to infinity will be in acceptablefocus. This feature is most convenientfor taking pic-
tures of fast moving objects,
