 Focuslng Adlustments:
When focusing with Types 1, 2, 4 & 5 focusing screens, use either the center f ocusing spots
or the surrouding groundgloss (especiolly for telephoto or smoll lens openings, when the center
spot becomes dork). Adiust the eyepiece ring until the sublect imoge looks distinct ond cleqr.
It is much better if the subiect is not focused with the distonce focusing ring, of the comero,
beforehond ond if it is purposely left blurred ond indisfinct. In ony cose, when the High
Mognificotion Woist-Level Finder is first ottoched to the comero, the eyepiece ring should be
revolved ond odiustments mode.
With Types 3 ond 6 focusing screens, however, the double cross-hoirs of the screen will look
blurred ond seem to be single cross-hoirs, if the vertex power of the eyepiece is not od-
iusted to the user's eyesight.
Therefore, when the High Mognificotion Woist-Level Finder is ottoched to the comero, the
eyepiece ring should be revolved either woy until the cross-hqirs beconie distinct cnd ore
seen cts double cross-hoirs, ot which point the eyepiece will be odiusted to the user's eye-
sight.
Further focusing shoutd be undertoken with the distonce focusing ring of the comero lens, or
microscope focusing knobs, until the subiect is seen distinctly. When using Types 3 ond 6
focusing screens, however, it will olso be possible to focus criticolly by eliminoting porollox
between the cross-hoirs ond imoge. To eliminote porollox, shift the eye from side to side
