CORNETOK is built only for A-C currentor
bottery operotion. Before plugging in, turn
switch-ringto left ond flop opens outomqti-
colly. Inserto shorp pointed obiect into the
opening(l ) ond odiustvoltoge by slidingup
or down os required(220or I l0/l 25Y Io I l0).
Dqnger! The CORNETOK moy not be used
on D-C current!Use only stondqrdUltrqblitz

The built-in bottery is seqled oir-tight ond
requiresno servicing.Thesequenceof flqshes
tells you whether the bottery is fully chqrged
or not. The flqsh sequenceis defined os the
time intervql which elopses between flosh
ond lightingup of red signo| :

At the very lotest,bqttery should be rechqrg-
ed when flqsh intervol is down to 30 se-
conds. ln this cqse, o  f u ll chorge will toke
obout 14 hrs. The bottery is not domoged,
however, if  it  is left unchorged for longer
periods of time.

An occosionoloverchorgeis not domoging.The bottery hos on exceptionolly
long life of obout 400 to 500 rechorges. lf by mistoke the mechqnism is left
turned on for o long period of time, the bottery will dischorgeqnd vibrqtor
will no longer operote. In generol, this will not ruin the bottery, but up to
60 hrs moy be required for q new chorge. lt will then be bock to full copocity
qfler 2 to 3 normol dischqrgecycle with q l4 hrs. rechorgefor eoch.





5. Reformingthe StorogeCondense

When flosh hos not been used for severc, weeks, it is best to plug  it in on
eleetricsocket for20 to 30 minutes.This will reform the electrolytecondenser
qnd the unit will reoch its full flosh power ogoin.

     oscerioiningcorrect operture.lf you ore using block ond white film, set block
     orrow oi volue correspondingto sensilivityof film used (for exomple: ASA 40),
     use red orrow for colour film. Proper operture volue (5.6)is then reod ot lhe'10     distonce(exomple: 16 ft.)

          Guide Number

                    lf the operture computer is not sufficienf,thot is to soy, if sensitivityof your
             film is higher or lower thon volues on computer, proper operture volue con
          be colculotedfrom the guide nurnber(see poge13) or os follows:

           Distonce is meosuredin ft. between lomp ond subiect.The guide number is,
             of course, only on opproximotion. li is governed by fhe light output of the
        CORNET OK ond by the film sensitivity,however, it olso depends on the
           brightnessof subiect,size ond brightnessof room ond method of developing.
          Guide numbers indicoted ore overoges colculoted for normol size rooms,n            with light wolls. lf you ore ioking picturesoutsides,in lorge holls,or of bright,
*           reflecting obiects of long distonces,be sure fo open shutter 1 or 2 stops more
           thon required by mothernoticolcolculotionor operture computer.Also, if the
           distonceis under 8 ft., use o lorger shutter opening (i. e. 1 stop lorger for o

Guide numbervoriesforcolour ond blqck qnd white film, olthoughthey moy
    hqve the some sensitivity.Using the guide number groph ot the right, guide
   numbersfor every type of film con be oscertoinedin the following monner:
    Find the sensitivityof your film on the left hqnd scole,follow  it horizontolly
     until it intersectsthe line for the type of film you ore using (colour or block
    ond whife). The proper guide number is then locoted on the horizontol scole
     directly below the point of intersection.




   7. Iilm ond developing

   The ULTRABLITZlight correspondsto doylight of 56000K. Therefore, use only
    doylight film for colour pictures.For block qnd white pictureswe recommend
    ponchromotic film with normql developing. An especiolly high quolity of
     brilliqnt,finely groduoted negolivescon be obtoined by using o modern ropid
12  developer.Volues indicoted refer to normol developing time.
