             4. Reortivoling fhe flosh copocitors

To moke sure thot the equipment operotes of full power ofter severol weeks
of disuse, the CORNET must be connected to o suitoble moins supply, with
1/+ lo 1/z hour. This procedure without the operotion switch set toP, for. obout e/.

      5. Guide number ond operture
The guide number is determined by the light output of the ULTRABLITZ
equipment ond by the sensitivity of the film moteriol. The required operture
con be colculoted with the oid of this guide number with the following
     formulq:

                           guide number operture :
                               distonce (between lomp ond subiect)

The opertures shown in the odiocent toble ore opproximote only ond opply
to photogrophy in mediumsized, bright rooms. The moximum output of light '
ond therefore olso the indicoted guide numbers will be only reoched o few
seconds ofter the signol lomp lights up. When toking pictures in the open,
in lorge holls, ond generolly for from o reflecting surfoce, increose the lens
     operture by one or two stops. For distonce of less thqn 2.5 meters (obout 8 ft)                 {
the colculoted operture must usuolly be increosed, of o distonce of I meter
10 (3 ft), for instonce, it should be increosed by one stop.

At o consiont film sensitivity the guide number is o different one for reversol
positive colour film, negotive colour film ond block-ond-white film. The
oppropriote guide number for film moteriol of ony film sensitivity con be
reod off the odiocent diogrom. Find the sensitivity of your film on the left-
hond scole, follow it horizontolly ocross until it cuts ocross the line for the
type of film you ore rrsing (positive reversol colour film, negotive colour
film or block-ond-withe film), ond the required guide number is found verti-
colly below the point of intersection. For instonce: block-ond-white film
     17/10o DIN guide number 30. -

     6. Negotive materiol ond development

The light of the ULTRABLITZ is equivolent to doylight ot 5600o K; therefore
for colour photogrophy use only doylight moteriol. For block-ond-white
photogrophy, ponchromotic film with normol development is recommended.
For the highest requirements, modern ropid developers will give brilliont
negotives with correct rendering of grodotion. All the volues quoted opply
12 to normol development.

8. Specicl hints for obtoining even better snopshots with the
   ulrrablirz c0RNEI

Front lighting often results in flot pictures. Better pictures, showing the effect
of depth, con be obtoined by plocing the flosh lomp some distonce to the
side or obove the comero, but still oimed ot the subiect. The slight loss in
effective light con be compensoted by opening the operture of the lens o
little. Suitoble extensions for the synchronising leod con be obtoined from
ony photogrophic deoler.
The ULTRABLITZ considerobly extends your field of photogrophic by enobling
you to brighten deep shodows, especiolly necessory for colour film. Under
dull conditions o flosh provides "sunlight" while when photogrophing ogoinst
the light (contre-lour) it smoothes out excessive controsts.
An exomple of colculoting the correct operture:
At o distonce of 3.5 meters, the guide number 28 gives on operture
   . of f8.
For the ovoiloble generol light, the exposure meter indicotes on ex-
posure of llzs sec of f 8.
Set the shutter to 1/25 sec.
      Set the operture to f '11 insteod of f 8. 15

In this woy the flosh will hove obout the some effect qs the ovoiloble light.
By reducing the exposure time, the effect of the ovoiloble light is'reduced.

     9. UITRABLIIZ Service
In spite of the smoll size the Ultroblitz CORNET is relioble ond of o high
performonce ond does not need ony mointenonce. The CORNET ist the most
up-to-dote model, mqde on modern equipment, ond hos been most core'
      fully tested.
lf you ore dissotisfied with the performonce of your Ultroblitz CORNET
equipment of ony time, pleose turn to the deoler from whom you hove
bought it or turn to the representotives of our compony in your country.
