Some Hints by the Comero Designer
A comerq is q voluoble precision-mode opticol in-
strument requiring proper core to give moximum
service.Prior to first using it, you should fomiliorize
yourself with oll its feqtures.
Perhops you hove been occustomed to winding the
film ofier every exposure. The Venturo "69" deluxe
is provided with o shutter lock serving to eliminote
double exposures. The red dot visible in the smoll
window next to the releose button (see poge 2) in-
dicotesthot the film hos olreody been exposed ond
thot film winding must be perforrned.lf you moke it
q rule to wind the film only shortly before exposure,
you will never releose the comero inodvertently"
The quick-octingsnopshothunter,however,will stick
io his hobits, becouse he wonts to be reody for
immediote exposure.
You should olso know obout the mistokesyou moy
moke: For exomple, while opening fhe comero,
"occidentqlly" depress the releose button by octing
os owkwordly os you con monoge. As o result the
comerq releose will become inoperotive. - How to
remedy this mistqke? - Agoin close the comero.
The releose will remoin locked. You could releose
the lock by rototing the film winding knob. By this
procedure, however, you would lose one exposure.
To sove the picture, you moy use the polished lever
protruding from the shutter next to the "T"-Lever
(see poges 7 ond 8). Exercisesome core in doing this
qnd be sure not to obstruct the lens with your
fingers.
Attention: Never depress lhe releqse while
opening the comerq!
7EView original page 16Page 17 · Read text
Alwoys depress lhe releose os fqr os it will go. lf
you ore occustomed to woiting for some resistonce
to be felt, it moy hoppen thot you heor the locking
device operoting before the shutter is octuolly
opened.You should continuedepressingthe releose.
Either of this very moment or immediotely ofter-
words the shutterwill work. Also in coseswhere ihe
shutter hos been locked by inodverrtentoperotion of
the releose, remedy con be obtoined os outlined in
the preceding porogroph.
Nole: Alwoys depresslhe releqse qs fqr qs
il will so!
You will eosily form fhe hqbif of removing the coble
releoseond the yellow filter, ond to set the brilliont
finder verticol before closingthe comero. The focus-
ing ring should be set ot infinity.
The comero shutier is o most delicote spring move-
ment of mqximum precision.Moke it o rule to cock
the shutter only shortly before exposure.Under no
circumstoncesshould o comerq be put owoy with
the shutter cocked.
Exposuretime should olso be selected before the
shutteris cocked. This opplies to high shutterspeeds,
in porticulor, becouse,os you will eosily feel when
rototing ihe milled ring, the shutter spring is sub-
iected to consideroble tension when o shutter speed
of l/aoosecond is used.
Comero Core
Proper core will greotly extend the life of your
cornero. You should olwoys protecf it from dusf ond
excessivesunlight. Prior to looding, be sure to re-
