‘The all-metal Vidax camera is designed and made in
America for the professional and advanced amateur pho-
tographer. Aimed for the highest degree of versatility, it

is supreme in its field,

Salient Features of the VIDAX Camera

The
Variable
Rangefinder

‘The Vidax rangefinder was the first to allow manual
adjustment for various focal lengths. No cams are r¢
quired. A few turns of a knob (encircled) moves a cal-
ibrated seale for lenses of 65mm to 127mm focal length.

Focussing is so precise that an error of '% inch at 8 feet
can be spotted.

The
Convertible
Back

Whether you use the Rollfilm Back or the Cutfilm
Back the Vidax looks and feels to have been made for that
purpose alone, Users of miniature Press cameras have
found that when you add a box-type roll holder to a box-
type camera body the result can become an unwieldy crate
suitable mainly for use on a tripod. The Vidax design is
ideal for a portable hand camera.

A built-in adjustable frame allows division of a film
roll into 8 - 12 - or 16 separate exposures. This is done
before loading the camera and remains set until the roll is
exposed, A mask is inserted in front of the viewfinder at
the same time to show the proper viewing area (see top
photo).

The
Press
Camera

The Cutfilm Back with groundglass and focussing hood
snaps on to the camera body in an instant. This Back takes
standard 2% x 3% cutfilm holders, filmpack adapters and
Graphmatie film holders.

Although larger and heavier, the Vidux handles more
than the smallest miniature. There is just enough
body and substance to hold firmly and maneuver properly

xposing with a cable release is the surest way to
avoid those fuzzy negatives that are usually blamed on the

lens.

A single eyepiece for both range and view finder gives a
brilliant image—white spot on blue field—that can be

seen in the poorest light.

16 Exposures
1% x 2%

‘The economy size for casual snapshots, records, classroom
portraits, ete. This size affords a negative more’ than twice
the area of 6mm film at a lower cost per exposure.

2! x 2!) — 12 Exposures
‘The medium size for portraits, color transparancies and
general-purpose photography when you want to be ready for
any picture possibility

2% x 3'4 — 8 Exposures

‘The panoramic size for group photos, wide angle interiors,
lamiseape and scenic views. This is the minimum sige
ative for sharp, grainless enlargements to professional stand
finds, ‘Cutfilms, filmpacks and color film in this sie ae
