TTL-auto Operatlng Range
The operating range changes with the film speed, lens aperture in use and power
level selection. Refer to the following tables.
For the maximum operating distances, multiplythe followingratio with those on table A.
Film speed 25 50 100 200 400 1000

Forexample: lf the maximum operating distance is6.4 meters (21 tl) with ISO 100
film it will be 12,8 meters (42 ft) when using ISO 400 film.
Aperture/ Program Dlstance Scale
The Aperlure/Program Distance Scale on the rear of the unit shows the combina-
tions of maximum operating distances, zoom head position and lens apertures for
different film speed. This combination will help you select a lens aperture with
Aperture Priority mode camera operation. Example: in Aperture Priority with ISO 100
film, zoom head position S(50) aperture set at f4, the maximum distance will be 30 ft.

AF lllumlnator for Auto Focuslng
In low light or total darkness with the flash in the ON position, the single LED AF
illuminatorwill be automaticallyactivated when the camera's shutter release is
depressed half-way. Light from the illuminatorwill be projected on the subject to activate
the camera's autofocus mechanism. The effectiverange of the illuminatoris about 1 -'10
meters (3 3-33 feet) with a 50mm normal lens. lf a zoom lens is used with a small
aperture the minimum effective distance will be shorter than above and you may want to
use manual focusing. IMPORTANT - The flash auto-focus illuminatorwill only function
when the auto-focus mode selector located on the front of the camera is set to AF.

When the flash is fired and there is sufficient light output lor a good exposure, the
auto OK Indicator will glow for approximatelyone second.

Slightly over one minute after the last flash or switching power on, the auto-off circuit i
will automatically be initiated and the unit will be electronically off for some time, the
ready light will also go out. ln order to turn on the flash, the unit needs to be switched
off and on again, then it will resume its normal function.

1) In the Manual Camera mode, you select the shutter speed and f/stop, but the
exposure is still automatic TTL. This capability permits you to accurately balance I
ambient light (non-flash) with light from the flash unit. Because the camera's
maximum shutter speed for flash is 1/125th sec., you will not be able to set
shutter speed higher than 1/125th sec. once the flash's ready light is on.
2) Set the lens aperture based on TTL flash exposure just as you would when, using ' the Aperture Priority flash mode.
